Who Gives a Shit: Will You Feed Your Babies "Farm to Baby" Food?

Image via change.org

Want to feel even MORE like a peasant when you take your baby to the park sans Bugaboo?

Because now you're going to have to explain to other Slope parents why your little Aldous is eating normal Gerber baby nosh from Key Food, and not shit straight from a farm.

Yes, the farm to table foodie craze is now coming to a diaper near you. Farm to Baby, a new company based in Greenpoint, makes and delivers fresh baby food, sourced from local farms. Now, I like the idea of supporting local farmers, and small businesses. I am totally behind the concept of eating fresh foods that are unprocessed, so naturally, feeding your baby that stuff makes sense too.

BUT this seems excessive.

Park Slope Ballers Circa 1979

Park Slope ballers in 1979 look...well, like EVERY MOTHERFUCKER in Williamsburg does now. Or, shall I say, Williamsburg folks look like us in '79 baller-form. Check out these videos done by clothing company, Capry, and delight in the fact that the location of this amazing fashion moment happened on our very own, 5th ave and 9th st. Here's another vid:

No One Wants to Hear "SHIT PARK SLOPE PARENTS SAY"

The NY Daily News recently reported that a Park Slope mommy is collecting material to make her very own "Shit Park Slope Parents Say" video.

Please take a moment and let this fully sink in (but resist the urge to set your computer on fire. After all...it belongs to the company).

As if we need ANOTHER "Shit _____ Says" video. I actually can't fathom something less funny than Park Slope parents reciting their inane babbling in a quickly-clipped internet video that will for sure not have Juliette Lewis in it (if Buscemi is included, however, I will reconsider this entire post).

[My Favorite Park Slope]: Sit-Down Coffee Break Spots

Image Via Chinae Alexander

New York has officially made me a minor coffee snob. Some days I wish I could just go back to thinking a cup of joe at Dunkin' was the fucking jam. But I can't...and you probably can't either.

For a runaway cup of coffee, I'll do Gorilla or Cafe Grumpy -- my favorite coffee in the Slope. The drinks are excellent and there's never any room to sit...anywhere (unless you want to sit in the garbage collection area outside of Gorilla, where you'll find me pretty much every Saturday morning).

But sometimes you just want to sit and actually enjoy the fine art of coffee-ing, rather than using it to prevent waterboarding a co-worker before 10AM.

Here are my two favorite sit-down coffee joints in the Slope:

Park Slope Has Its Very Own Hip Hop Group

Well, sorta.

In the dregs of YouTube, we've discovered a very special gem of internet glory -- a song called "La Dee Da Dee" by a musical super group that goes by the name "Park Slope." Never heard of em'? Yeah, me neither. BUT this music video of what looks like their only "hit" (I use the word hit loosely), is pretty much exactly what happens in the day-to-day life of the average Slope citizen.

Alright, so maybe it's nothing like what really happens in Park Slope. I'm actually starting to doubt they've ever been to New York City for that matter, considering they are riding Segways while rapping. Let's break it down into a couple scenes that exemplify how un-Park Slope "Park Slope" actually is.
