We're ready for you Anne Hathaway!

Image Via Business Insider

So reportedly, Anne Hathaway is selling her existing $4.5 million dollar Brooklyn pad and is looking to relocate to another BK locale. We here at FIPS need more celebrity material (sorry Patrick, Steve, Maggie, and Peter), so Anne, here are 5 reasons for you to consider Park Slope your next hood.

What You Should Order At...Blueprint (Cocktail Edition!)

WHAT YOU SHOULD ORDER AT... is a recurring column designed in kind for your opinionated asses and our lazy asses.  We're going to pick one Park Slope resto a week and recommend our favorite dish at each.  Are we right?  Are we wrong?  YOU KNOW YOU WANNA WEIGH IN.

The cocktail bars keep popping up in the Slope but by far my personal favorite is still always Blueprint. Consistently excellent libations, delicious snacks, and an incredible staff complete with hot Aussie bartender (Hi Andy!).

I’ve have ashamedly tried 80% of the cocktails on the Blueprint menu, so I thought I’d share a couple favorite selections with you that are sure to please even the most discerning of palates.

Hold Onto Your Lady Parts...We're Getting Our Very Own "Power Center"!!!

Image via Racked.com

It’s now officially confirmed that BK gals won’t have to leave the borough to get their beauty fix, according to Racked.com. The first Brooklyn Sephora outpost will be housed in the Municipal Building downtown, and that’s not all ladies...

Sephora will allegedly be "the anchor for what is becoming a women's power center” in downtown Brooklyn.

Wait, what?

What the hell is a women’s power center? Isn’t that just called a mall?

Easy Beach Transit for Drunk Hipster Babies, Now Coming to Park Slope!

Image via Making Magique.com

Good news, people. Your cheap asses will still be able to go to the beach this summer due to the quick rebuilding process at NYC beaches after the douche parade that was Hurricane Sandy. BUT, I cannot say that public transit will be your easiest bet. But...there’s a solution for everything.

Last summer the Rockabus made pickups from Williamsburg out to Far Rockaway and Jacob Riis Park, and this summer due to growing needs and the desire to support our beach communities, Rockabus is expanding with pickups in Park Slope (Grand Army Plaza) and the East Village (and of course, still Williamsburg). This pretty much means that the beaches will solely host drunk hipster babies and their surly cohorts.

The Talk of the Town...BROOKLYN!

Image Via Prime Homes NY

It seems like the (not-so) “New Brooklyn” is all the mainstream media can talk about these days...and with the introduction of Girls, we are really screwed here people. Even our dear disgusting Gowanus is getting Whole Foods-ed (though I’m pretty excited) and just give it time, even Bed-Stuy will find an artisanal mayonnaise shop on every corner and will be donned the new “IT” locale. So what has the NYT said about Brooklyn and are we really the talk of the town?

According to the BKLYNR, a new Brooklyn-focused online semi-monthly, the percentage of BK mentions in the NYT has increased over the last 30 years or so...and of course has gone from gang violence to shiny new real estate projects. BKLYNR’s featured article has an interactive map dating back to 1981 with stats on how many times Brooklyn was mentioned in the Times, the most mentioned neighborhoods, and the biggest changes in mentions (positive or negative), as well as a little bit of yearly history.  Check it out for yourself HERE.
