Beat the Snow Day Blues: How to Have an In-Office Snow Day

If I were still in college, a typical snow day would involve an early-morning trip to the liquor store, drunk sledding, spiked hot chocolate, and laying in the snow until one of my roommates was forced to drag me inside of our apartment, so I wouldn't freeze to death like Jack Nicholson in The Shining.

WTF!? School is *Already* Closed For Tomorrow [Also: SNOWBALL FIGHT!!]

WTF is wrong with these people? The junior rug rat has already been home "sick" for two days and now you're telling me that you're making the snow day call already????

This is outside of enough. I frankly see no reason for a citywide snow day, especially just a few days before a weeklong winter break.

Beware, BALLERS! Your kid-free coffee shops won't be safe tomorrow.

Park Slope Snowball Fight??

Did I just see some more snowflakes??

Ever since that last blizzard, I've been pissed that I missed this amazing snowball fight in Times Square.

Then I started thinking: God damn it, we need a good old snowball fight in Park Slope!

It could be a ceremonial breaking of the ice between the nabe haves and have nots: kid-toting vs kid-free,
capitalists vs legal aid lawyers/social workers, newbies vs old guard, boys vs. girls, gym-toned vs fat-assed, employed vs laid off...

I'll even try to talk Erica into setting up a FIPS table with hot cocoa and mulled cider (okay, I don't actually know how to mull cider but how hard canit be??).

If it starts up again and anything sticks tonight, let's all meet tomorrow in long meadow!

You know when they do those evening news segments where they help out some enraged community member by having the newscaster confront a deadbeat landlord, scheming business owner or some other obvious asshole? And you watch and cheer on as said asshole is embarrassed on national local TV in front of hundreds of thousands of people?

Right, well FIPS is gettin into that game too.

Today's FIPS "Shame on you, mofo!" award is going to the owner/owners of the building at 71 8th Avenue at the corner of 8th and Union Street. Whoever this sonofabitch tit is, they never, ever, ever, never, never shovel up all the goddamned snow in front (AND on the side of) their goddmaned building. And its *really* friggin annoying.
