Y'all know how much I hate the shit out of Beastly Bite, so this makes me verrry happy. Also, we get Oliver this Wellness Simple Solutions shit that Petco doesn't carry, so I'll keep ordering from you, NYC Pet! Don't you worry!

Oliver Gets Stoop'd

So Spike Lee collab'd with Absolut on a new flavored vodka, Absolut Brooklyn. Have you seen this shit?

True confessions: I've yet to taste it, but the bottle itself looks pretty damn cool. It's supposedly a nod to the stoop where Lee grew up. "Harkening back to the decades-long notion that the stoop is truly the epicenter of creativity, culture and community, the bottle serves as an homage to that Brooklyn ideal of stoop life--where memories are made and ideas are sparked through conversation and camraderie."

Ok, I don't know about all that, cause my ass doesn't have a stoop. But we live in a neighborhood with a shitload of stoops and I often walk by and get all jel of the people sitting on them. And weirdly, Oliver often tries to walk up and sit on other people's stoops. So all this talk about stoops got me thinking: LET'S TAKE SOME PICS OF OLIVER ON STOOPS! YAY STOOPS! YAY OLIVER! YAY BROOKLYN!

New South Slope Dog Run

"The group South Slope Dog — started by Pamela Brown "after being inspired to do something to improve our community at the inauguration of President Obama" — scored a major victory last week when Community Board 7 approved its petition to turn a portion of the "pocket park" abutting Prospect Expressway into a dog run. As long as they get the okay from the Parks Department, as early as this week, the roughly 3,000-square-foot path of fenced-in grass bounded by the Prospect Expressway, 18th Street and Sixth Avenue will be officially set aside for unleashed canines."

Dog park...Obama...goddammit this story is ripe for making fun of.

My Walk On The Wild Side: The Three Little Bears and Me

Not sure I've mentioned that I am pretty much a city girl. I love nature as long as it comes without the bugs and wildlife. No likey insects and snakes espesh. Not that I would call in Woody Allen to exterminate a bedbug in the bathroom, but you get where I'm coming from here.

So, the little one and I escaped our perpetual weekend abandonment (little league season) to head out to the wilds of Pennsylvania with friends over the weekend. Hammock? Check. Pretty trees? Check. Cedar smell? Check. Trampoline? Oh yeah! Check (even did a spreadeagle). Bears in the backyard??? CHECKKKKKKKK!
