2007 Was A Banner Fucking Year

I'm not quite sure why we should give a shit about data that's now old and probs wildly inaccurate, but in case you care: Median income rose in Park Slope between 2005 and 2007 according to the American Community Survey just released by the Census Bureau.

Remember 2007? I do: I used to take cabs...and get my legs waxed...and drink $14 cocktails.

Fuck.

RETAIL Round Up: Eponymy & UGG

Eponymy:

"Cocktail confections from the ’50s mingle with Chanel jackets in mint condition, Prada eveningwear, and an eclectic mix of Korean and Californian designers, including Iodice, Rojas, and BNX.

Antique mirrors and housewares plucked from family attics or collected with an inherited eye for treasure are up for grabs, while sales of tightly curated modern photography from emerging artists and uncles alike benefit Humble Arts Foundation, a nonprofit owner Andrea Miller helped start."

(ed note: Ok, I'm intrigued).

A Message From The Brooklyn Tourism Board

Wednesday
Dec102008

FIPS ToDo's

* On December 21st, bring your kids to take part in New York's oldest continuing Holiday Tradition: Honoring Clement Clarke Moore. Moore's poem, "A Visit From St. Nicholas" (written for his six children), did much to popularize many of the traditional/fanciful aspects of the Christmas holiday celebration as we know it today (MUG).

*Check out what its like in Flatbush (Brooklyn Based).

*Adopt a black dog...cuz you're a rebel like dat. The Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition is a good place to start. (Buzzfeed).

*Catch hilarious Park Slope resident (and PC poseur) John Hodgman tonight for a reading at Barnes & Noble on 7th Avenue at 7:30pm (Twitter).

*Get outraged like Campbell Brown (could she *be* any hotter?) (Cityfile).

*Call in "gay" today (MSNBC)

*Catch up on the Top 10 stories you missed in 2008 (Kottke).

Ha! Mommy likes Bronx Mowgli better than Apple Cincinatti. Whose your fav-oh-rite? Do you do this? Is this horrible?
