It's time for our yet another edition of our monthly series, FIPS Food Throwdowns.  And I don't know about you bitches, but if I think "delivery," I think pizza.

Jonathan Safran Foer Won An Award!

Only it was a Moby Award for "Most Annoying Performance by an Author in a Book Trailer."

BWHAAAAAAAAAAA.

Now we wrote about this book trailer mooooonths ago. And srsly, if you watch it, you will feel compelled to scratch your eyes out, put your eyeballs in a bowl and then eat em with a spoon....it's *that* bad. But now I'm actually starting to feel sorry for this annoying schmo. Cause a few years ago everyone loved the shit outta him, and now all everyone does is hate his ass and trade JSFisms...shit, we even have one in our own FIPS diktionary.

Maybe we should invent a new word? Foerdom: After moving through a variety of emotional stages, the act of becoming so bored with JSF and JSF news, one actually begins to feel sorry for the dude.

[COFFEE WARS] NO, NOT GORILLA...Café REGULAR

image via: Adventures in Renovating a Brooklyn LimestoneNow that all is back to normal at Gorilla Coffee, it's time to shift our focus back to the family feud that erupted way back when at Café Regular. Just to refresh your mems: there was some sort of eruption that resulted in brothers Richard and Martin (who Grub Street refers to as a "legendarily sarcastic wizard of the espresso machine) parting ways with their sister Anne.

Welllllll.

It now seems is if Martin is opening up his OWN damn coffee spot in the former Pink Pussycat Boutique space on 5th Ave, btwn 4th and 5th streets...at least according to some poster on Brooklynian.

In other coffee related news: our Keurig arrived and was waiting for us when we got back from the airport last night!!! I haven't removed it from the box, but I'm so fucking excited I can barely contain myself.

HAY Center Slope, You Ready for a New Neighbor? [Movin' on Up]

So, tomorrow marks one week until the keys to my new place are in my hands--and I'm officially a center-Sloper.  (Don't worry, Gogo, I'll still captain the South Slope decathlon team; I'm only a few blocks above 9th.)  Yes, the lease was signed (DISH. WASHER.) and as I begin my intrepid trek from my quiet South Slope place that's dangerously close to one bagel place up to my new studio alarmingly closer to yet another bagel place, I'd like to pay homage (and say FU) to the things I will no longer be right next to.

Robbed in Park Slope? [OH YES WE CAN]

As a restaurant owner in Park Slope, you need to stay on top of a couple of key things:

And now we can all go ahead and add "not getting robbed" to the list.

The Brooklyn Paper is reporting that in the last month: Al di La, AOC Bistro, Aji Bar & Lounge (ok, I've never even heard of that) and Nuevo Mexico have all been robbed (all the action went down late at night after the staff had alreay left, but still).

I have no idea what this means. Like does this shit go down every month and we just don't know about? Are these robberies connected? Have a group of vigilante Food Coop members decided to hit up any restaurants not using locally, sustainable grown food?

I DON'T KNOW.

But you know how I like to keep your asses in the loop (so yeah, you're welcome).
