WHASSUP: Jan 20-22

*Thursday, Jan 20: Sexy school. Babeland Brooklyn is holding their G-Spot Orgasms class tonight at 8pm. The best orgasms of your life will run you $35. Details.

*Friday, Jan 21: Live music. Singer-songwriter Robin Bacior performs at Union Hall at 8pm. $8. Listen to her stuff here. She's 23 and pretty hot, even if she is a California transplant.

*Friday, Jan 21: Art opening. The Brooklyn Zen Center (um…) is hosting a show of "10 pantings that allegorize the process of transforming selfish lashing out into disciplined and effective action." Take that as you'd like. It's from 6-8 if you can handle the zen. Free.

*Saturday, Jan 22: One-act play. "Did You Hear the One About the Carp Who Hailed the Taxi?," a one-act comedy by Anne Phelan based on the 440 Gallery's current show, "My New York" is being performed alongside the exhibition. Find out more here. 7:30 & 8:30. Free. (That's what that fish image is, FYI.)

*Wed, Feb 2: Park Slope film. This isn't this week, but get your tix for The Landlord screening at 92Y Tribeca. Hal Ashby's directorial debut takes on the "getto" days of 1970, when Park Slope wasn't full of white people and strollers (crazy, I know). Details and tix here.

And one other thing that's up: If you're bored, click over to ListenParty.com, who promise they'll be your "new favorite free online audio journal," whatever that is. Apparently the idea came to fruition in a Park Slope writing group getting drunk together, so we're intrigued.

Add your shit in the comments.

WHASSUP: A Coupla Things Worth Mentioning

*Thursday, January 13: LOLz IRL. Tix still available for #ReTweet This: Rob Delaney & Friends doing standup at Union Hall. Yes, this thing is IRL. 8 p.m. tonight. The UCB show last night sold out, so get on it.

*Saturday, January 15: Snow jams. For an appropriately-named an event in light of recent vents, come dance to hip-hop, indie and more at Union Hall from 11p.m. on. Snow-themed specials, no cover, and all things warm and fuzzy. Details.

ALSO. Buy things along Fifth Ave in the Slope at these merchants from now until Valentine's Day, and every $14 you spend will get you a raffle ticket for BID's Spending Spree Raffle. Prizes are $1,000, $800 and $500 cash, so get your debt on.

Fire away in the comments with your other shit.

WHASSUP: New Year's Eve 2010 Edish

2010 is basically over, which means you can leave all of your failures on a different calendar, and start 'em anew. Hooray. Here's some shit going down in the Slope:

*Restaurant specials. Tons of stuff going down, and while I can't possibly list it all, here's a taste so you can make your rezzies. 5 course menu at Fonda; 3 course special with live music at Sette; 5 courses with beer pairings at Beer Table, 4 courses at at a.o.c., 5 course tasting at Benchmark and $40 for an open bar from 10p-2a at Barrio (their regular menu will also be avail). OH and just to mix it up, Barrio is doing a children's buffet from 2-8pm for $10 bucks, so that the whole fam can sit down and gorge themselves together, before mom and dad go out and have their real fun later that night.

*Lyceum party. UglyRhino's party at the Brooklyn Lyceum includes live music and DJs. Drinks for $5 and less, $1 shots. $10. 9pm. Details.

*Happy House party. Moved from Bell House to Union Hall this year. DJing a mix of Swedish post, Motown, indie, electroclash, etc. $15. 8pm. Details.

*Fireworks. Prospect Park fireworks, obi. Prospect Park West between Grand Army Plaza and 9th Street. Free. 11pm. Details.

*Guns N' Roses tribute. Mr. Brownstone plays their drunken tribute to GNR at the Rock Shop. $25. 8pm. Details.

*Comedy. Mr. Murray Hill's New Year's Eve Extravaganza variety show (monkey included) moves to Southpaw this year. Burlesque, music, booze. $45-$100. 10:30pm. Details.

*Beer. The Gate's doing no-cover NYE specials with special winter ales and cocktails, plus Captain Lawrence Brewery goodies. Discounts pre-11pm.

*Soul party. Funk and soul party including Marva Whitney and Billy Prince at the Bell House. 8pm. $30. Details.

Instead of complaining that I left off your rad party, put it in the comments. Happy 2011 etc. While you are al getting drunk, I will be enjoying my heater and cooking with my new mandoline. Waffle cut radishes, anyone?

WHASSUP: Holiday Edish [MERRY XMAS 'N' SHIT]

BREAK OUT YOUR EFFING HOLIDAY CHEER, PARK SLOPE. IT'S WHASSUP, HOLIDAY EDITION!

*Now: Holiday light show. South Sloper Ryan Powers has set up his yearly, handmade holiday light and sound display on 22nd between Sixth and Seventh. The three-minute show runs every 20 minutes from 5-10pm until January 8th, so stop by

*Thursday, Dec 18: Literature and food. Luckily not holiday-themed (as far as I know), Brooklyn Reading Works is serving up fiction, poetry and snacks at a reading event at the Old Stone House. It's a benefit for the Slope's St. Augustine's, too. Time, readers and charity info here.

*Now through Thursday, Dec 23: Holiday gift market and workshops. Brooklyn Flea's Gifted holiday market is going strong now through Thursday, Dec 23 at Skylight One Hanson for the holidays. Special stuff this weekend includes two Design*Sponge DIY workshops, too. Tons of info; so get it all here.

*Saturday and Sunday, December 18-19: Holiday craft marketplace. The Brooklyn Lyceym's third annual holiday craft marketplace is setting up shop at, duh, the Lyceum. Crafts, artisans and foods, plus a free batting cage and pics with Santa (who has been off the Food Coop diet lately to look festive). Free, with all your schedule and vendor info here.

*Sunday, December 19: Holiday trivia show. Get trivial in DUMBO with the Mental_Floss crew's special Holiday Edition Trivia Show. Part bar quiz, part game show, many bad jokes. Just how we like 'em. Details here.

*Saturday, December 25: Jewy Christmas partay. Once you're done going to the movies and eating Chinese food, JDub's eighth annual Christmas jam for the Jewz, Jewltide, is ragin' at Southpaw. Karaoke competition, drink special, free donuts, general fun. Contribution from $10 admission goes to charity. Info here.

BONUS LEVEL OF AWESOME: We're giving away a pair of tix to JDub's Jewltide, so if you wanna go, leave a comment by Sunday at 11:59pm on WHY JEWZ R00L and we'll give a pair to our fave. I will not comment on allowable level of offensiveness, but remember, the ghosts of my relatives are watching you from the Belarusian shtetl.

WHASSUP: Dec 8-12

*Wednesday, Dec 8: Get busy, singles. Tonight's our Naughty Office Party! You suck if you don't have tix yet, but you can still get 'em here. We'll see you at 7pm, and watch you leave with your catch o'the night. Consider that a threat.

*Thursday, Dec 9: Partay! OVERFLOW Magazine, Brooklyn Creative League and Brooklyn Craft Central are throwing a big ol' party at Littlefield to celebrate the launch of OVERFLOW's Winter 2011 issue. Burlesque dancers, cheap booze, raffles, dancin'. Tix are $6 here.

*Friday, Dec 10: Food competition. For the rare out-of-nabe experience, head to Greenpoint Open Studios for a mini-food competition--whatever you can dream of, dollhouse-size. It's also the opening reception for "Keep the Home Fire Burning: Fall in to Color." All the info you need here.

*Saturday & Sunday, Dec 11-12: Underground flim (literally). Rooftop Films heads underground into the Atlantic Avenue Tunnel in Cobble Hill. Two days, "two programs of short films from the dark underbelly of the independent film world and screen them deep inside the oldest subway on earth." Schedule here.

Oh, and if you're really up for some f-u-n, IKEA Red Hook is having Swedish Meatball Madness on Friday night. I still can't process the fact that people actually eat at IKEA, but if you're one of those whom I always make fun of and pity, all-you-can-eat your heart out on Friday night for $10.

Add more haps in the comments. I'm in a TheraFlu coma (and will be at tonight's Meatup, o hai), so I'm sure I missed shit.
