FIPS Throwback Thursdays: Patrick Stewart Park Slope Tumblr

I'm not sure how I missed this until now, but I only discovered this awesome Park Slope Patrick Stewart Tumblr yesterday. Of course, FIPS already covered it a year ago (before I was part of the whack pack), and here's what Thomas had to say then:

You thought the RYAN GOSLING FOOD COOP TUMBLR was awesome?  Well, this might be even better.

With the news that Jean Luc Picard, er, uh, PATRICK STEWART IS BUYING INTO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD, it was just a matter of time before this happened.  PARK SLOPE PATRICK STEWART is the name of the Tumblr, and I actually LOL'ed at a couple of these.  And they're certainly exploiting all the best neighborhood fodder.  Co-op?  Check! Bike lane?  Check!  Strollers in bars?  Check!

Patrick Stewart photo plus Park Slope stereotype equals awesome hilarity.  The end.

Patrick Stewart is Not Impressed with our sushi discounts

We here at FiPS like to keep tabs on how our favorite Park Slope transplant, Sir Patrick Stewart, is liking the neighborhood. From following his Twitter account, we know that loves the Nets but hates the barclays center. We know that, like the rest of us, he can't fucking stand Time Warner. We even know how he drinks his cappuccinos

Most recently, the actor has expressed his fear of 5th Avenue's Ginza sushi, and their half-off sushi deals. You're not alone on that one, Mr. Stewart [shudders.]

Now all we need to know is what he thinks of babies in bars...

Patrick Stewart Is Fitting In With This Neighborhood Just Fine

"It's how we do it in Belgium...it's called a Belgium Dip." - Sir Patrick Stewart

Cuter than a thousand Park Slope babies, this guy.

P-Stew Officially Loves the Nets, Hates the Barclay Traffic

Yes, Patrick Stewart -- Park Slope's newest celebrity resident and my newest FiPS beat -- has joined the rest of us in expressing feelings for the much-loved Barclays Center. According to New York Magazine, he hates the traffic caused by the arena's recent events, saying, "When they had the Jay-Z concerts, Flatbush [Avenue] turned into a parking lot."

But here's what P-Stew does love: the Nets. Yep, those boys dressed in black who recently doubled for grocery baggers at the Key Food on 7th Ave are a welcomed addition to Sir Patrick's new hood: "I am a sports fan and it now means that I can watch the Nets," he told the magazine. Stewart admits that he doesn't drive anyway, and likes the walk just fine: "When there’s a stadium a walk away from where you live, why wouldn’t you do that? Better than television."

Um, I don't think it's better than watching yourself Captain the effing Enterprise on television. Just sayin'.

How Sir Patrick Stewart's New Park Slope Quarters Stack Up To His Other Homes

Patrick Stewart, a wonder of an actor -- and childhood hero of mine -- can't walk down the street of his new 'hood without someone in the Park Slope blogosphere writing a damn cutesy post about it. Or starting a tumblr devoted to it (which is genius, btw). And yes, I know that I'm the one who compared Park Slope to the Enterprise D, but it's just so much fun! We local bloggers do this, Sir Patrick Stewart, only because we love you and want you to stay forever.

And in the spirit of our collective nosiness, I believe we are all curious to know what lucky Park Slope pad you have decided to call home. Recently, Curbed spilled the beans of Stewart's nifty new digs at 288 7th Street. Let me tell you this place is sweeeet (click HERE for more photos). It is a 3-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom converted carriage house and includes a private 1,200-square-foot rooftop terrace and a ton of other amazing shit that I'm going to tell you about after the jump.

In short: it's not too shabby. But how does it compare to some of the other places Sir Patrick has lived?
