[My Favorite Park Slope...]: Biscuit

OK, right up front I'll admit that I have not sampled many a biscuits in my time. I lived in Georgia for a few years and had my share of 'em gravy-soaked and lathered in butter, but as far as New York goes, I haven't taken advantage of what the city has to offer.

This no longer matters, because I have found the one biscuit that I want to have for the rest of my life: The Blueprint Biscuit.

[MY FAVORITE PARK SLOPE...]: CHICKEN SALAD

It's the chicken Florentine salad at Bagel Market, and I can't get enough of it. And it's healthy!

Two things:

  1. Yes, I realize that chicken salad loaded in delicious mayonaise-y gloppiness is pretty fantastic. But remember folks: #myfatass. I need an alternative.
  2. I further realize that this picture doesn't look particularly appetizing...all I can tell you is that this shit is GOOD.

[MY FAVORITE PARK SLOPE...]: SUSHI ROLL

Photo: Eric Isaac

If I were anyone else, I would start this post with, "If I could eat sushi every day..." but, like, I kind of do. And if Park Slope came under invasion of Sushi-Snatching Extra Terrestrials, there's one roll I'd sacrifice a family member to save. That, my friends, is the J Pan Roll at Jpan Sushi.

This little slice of rice-free heaven is spicy tuna, salmon, white tuna and mango wrapped with a layer of avocado and rice pancake, with a little drizzle of the chef's special on top.

[My Favorite Park Slope...]: Place to get my hair did

As a dude, I have this thing where I refuse to pay more than $15 for a haircut. It's something I learned form my dad, who would take me and my brother to the barber when we were kids for monthly buzz cuts and lollipops. Dad never paid more than $40 for three haircuts -- and sometimes, that even included a shave. So when looking for a place to get my haircut, price is the #1 factor.

Granted, I've never had one of those expensive haircuts in my life, so I could totally be missing out. But since I'm almost 30 and kind of losing my hair anyway, I just don't need more than a 1" buzzer on the sides and a quick scissor cut.

[My Favorite Park Slope...]: Fries

Photos via Bartoto.com

Oh man, how much do I love everything about Bar Toto? A lot. It’s my favorite place to eat in Park Slope, and one of my favorite places to eat in the world. Their paninis are loaded with savory goodness and stacked on thick, toasted bread. Their bloody mary is reason alone for me to go on a Saturday or Sunday morning.
