Pavillion Movie Theater to Park Slope: 'THERE ARE NO FUCKING BEDBUGS HERE, BITCHES'

Ok, so that's not *exactly* a direct quote, but the sentiment is there.

Gothamist published a follow-up to the recent controversh on Brooklynian, which claimed that there was a "giant bedbug problem" at the Pavillion. We piped up about the whole thing as well, though mostly to just say: OMGOMGOMG, is this true?

Well, Gothamist actually has people who fact check shit and get quotes, so they got in touch with the Pavillion's General Manager who had this to say about the bedbug claims: "That is innacurate information, we do not have a bedbug problem."

Ok, so fine...I guess the choice is yours people.

UNLESS, of course, the Pavillion wants to invite over a group of bitter Brooklynian posters and some bitchy FIPSers, along with a 3rd party impartial exterminator of our choice for, oh I don't know, a free movie and black light investigation? Cause that would kinda rule.

Are There Bedbugs Living In Those Crappy, Dirty, Purple Seats at the Pavillion?

Fuck, now I gotta choose between getting shot at Court Street or getting bedbugs at the Pavillion!?

    From brooklynpotter on Brooklynian:

"One of my board members told me that there's a giant bedbug problem at the Pavillion--another reason not to go..."

Look people, I've got no idea if this shit is true or not. Gawd knows Brooklynians whine about all sorts of bullshit, and there ain't no telling what's for real and what's not.  But since getting bedbugs is currently the single thing I am *most* afraid of in this world (followed by: falling down the subway steps in front of a thousand people, getting pushed into a moving subway as someone tries to pass by me too closely, pigeons and clowns), I'm gonna be taking this pretty fuckin seriously.

Back to Regal Battery Park it is.

'Grown-up Professional Sources For Herbal Products in Park Slope?'

Gawd, there are so many fucking things I love about this Brooklynian thread, I almost don't know where to start.  All I know is, Johnnyanonymous needs some help!

Grown up professional sources for herbal products in Park Slope?

I just moved to the neighborhood this past April twentieth, and I haven't quite gotten my bearings yet. I tried Back to the Land and that little shop next to Starbucks, but they don't seem to have what I need. Thoughts? PM button below.

    Riiiight.

Who Gives A Shit: Is the Music at Dram Shop *That* Bad?

Cause apparently Daveon8th seems to think so:

    "Dear Dram Shop,

It is with a heavy heart that I post this online but you just don't seem to have a clue about the slide that you have taken in the last few months. From the week that you opened to the first time(of many) that I ordered your cheeseburger, or the time that on the eve of our wedding my wife and I took our siblings to hang out for the first time as group. One thing has bothered me consistently. The horrible, out of place music that you play at an absurdly high volume."

The alleged music in question is apparently Feist and Sarah MachLachlan...which, for me is admittedly a little weird (I expected it to be some annoying techno bullshit or something). In truth, I've stilll never tried the burger at Dram Shop because the two times we tried going, the service was so fucking horrendous, we walked out.

So, I guess today I have 3 simple questions: Is the music at Dram Shop really *that* bad? Is the burger at Dram Shop really *that* good? Does the service at Dram Shop *actually* suck a dick, or was I just there on two off days?

You know what to do, people.

Again, answer in the comments (and feel free to go stealth anon if you want some priv-ass-y).

Cool or Not Cool: Babies In Bars? [Here we go Again]

Ok, first of all, please save your bullshit comments about how "tired" and "old" and "boring" this topic is. Duh, its been discussed before. I got it.

But here's the thing bitches: each time it IS discussed, lots of people chime in, and leave comments in forums, and clickity click on over to our fucking website, so obvs its still on people's minds.

On Brooklynian, opinions are all over the map: bebes ok, toddlers are not; bebes/kids are ok (I guess) if they are well behaved; I'm a parent and I have a bebe and I would NEVER bring it to a bar; I bring my bebe everywhere and I like it; in Europe, everyone brings their bebe to bars, but not their strollers.

Here's my take: if I'm in a bar and you're sitting off in the corner with your baby who is quiet and well behaved, I wouldn't even notice you. However, if you are sitting there with your double decker, penthouse bugaboo stroller and a screaming kid (and or one who is his running around, yelling, and spilling my water all over my fucking lap, true story), then I'm going to get pissed. Problem is, you can't exactly have a sign up that says: only well behaved kids allowed.

And since it sometimes seems like, in this neighborhood, there are only about 11 well behaved kids TOTAL (shoutout to the adorable little 6-year-old we saw at Sette last week who was quietly coloring most of the time and sweetly asked her parents if it was OK (!!??) if she got up to look at all the cool wine bottles around the open kitchen), the baby in bars things will likely continue to be a topic of discussion until the end of fucking time.

So, here we go again: Babies in Bars--Cool or not cool?

Who Gives A Shit: What's Your Fave Park Slope Biz? (And Why?)

Yet again, our favorite ranting Brooklynians have got us thinking.

So, we're piggybacking on their shit, cause its just that good, with another simple question: What are some of your fave Park Slope Businesses and why? (like places you still LOVE to go to eventhough we're all poor and there's a recesh going on?).

    That's it.

Again, answer in the comments (and feel free to go stealth anon if you want some priv-ass-y).

Just to get your asses started, here's one of my fave comments in the thread from the, obviously, very hot Carmen who started this whole convo:

"Save on 5th on 5th and and 8th st- They always remember my dog's name and I have heard them allow little kids on the intercom (SO CUTE even for me, a kid hater.) And they have EVERYTHING."

    Zipcar Etiquette Smackdown

This is E-X-A-C-T-L-Y the reason I love to read posts on Brooklynian, and yet have never chosen to participate.

    I'm scurred.

Please follow along as some poor Zipcar schlep gets all sorts of smacked down because he was late AND didn't fill up his gas tank.

I'll be praying for you bradedward.

Cool or Not Cool: Skipping The Deodorant

Someone on Brooklynian has a BO emergency:

"So this woman I am close to never wears deodorant/anti-perspirant and she kind of smells like a men's locker, especially on sultry nights."

As someone who sweats more than Alec Baldwin at a Bikram yoga class, this makes zero sense to me...like with all the tragedy in the world, my brain can't even compute the possibility of not wearing deodorant.

But what do you think: Cool or not cool?

    BARK: The Saga Continues

If the whole "there's no such thing as bad publicity" rule of thumb holds true, than that new hot dog joint Bark is in it to win it. Yep, there is *quite* the lively thread going on Brooklynian about the place.

    Thus far the controversy includes:

    *people who hate the place

    *people who love the place

*people who love it but think its way too fucking expensive

*territorial Brooklynians accusing new members of anti-shilling

    *Willie's Dawgs advocates

*people who think that everyone should just STFU about everything

*people who tried the place and now believe they were ripped off due to some menu/receipt inconsistencies

    DAYM.

And in the meantime, I STILL have not gotten my ass there to try it yet.
