Just when you think that Brooklyn parents have hit their "ridiculous-things-to-do-with-babies" quota, the neighborhood manages to wring out a few more fad-following fools. The people at The Candy Rush on Franklin Avenue are holding Baby French classes, where wee tots as young as 9-months old are taught the French language even before they can speak, well, anything.
Now, don’t get me wrong; I understand the invaluable benefit for a child to learn a second language at a young age. Fluency in more than one language is certainly better than being relegated to one. However, I can’t help but question the parents’ motives in choosing French, of all languages. Why not Spanish? Or Chinese? I’ll tell you why not.

Surely, any parent of a 0-9 month old baby girl has, at one time or another, looked at her and thought, Blech, I’m so sick of looking at your bald head! What are you, A BOY?
Nope? Nobody? Good, because if so, I was about to tell you how terrible of a person you are.
Those of us with common sense know that it’s natural for a baby to start off generally bald and then eventually grow hair -- once it’s ready to do so. Unfortunately, not everyone is of the opinion that a baby is a baby and the reason it has no hair (boy or girl) is because it’s a GOD DAMN BABY. Who missed the bald baby memo, you ask? The creators of Baby Bangs! Yes, I’m serious. There is actually something called “Baby Bangs,” exclamation point!

Apparently the glue/tape combination found in current diapers is too reminiscent of sewing, which is prohibited on Shabbos. Since velcro sticks by way of a "hooking" method, it's technically not considered gluing or taping, which makes it a kosher diaper!

Depending on where you’re from culturally and/or geographically, there seems to be a difference of opinion on whether or not getting a baby girl’s ears pierced is an adorable rite of passage or just plain unnecessary and cruel.
A New York Times opinion piece and a subsequent Refinery 29 article both covered the subject, citing that Latin cultures, especially around Miami, where the population is largely Hispanic, are all gung-ho about piercing baby girls as soon as they’ve freshly emerged from the womb.
