Chipshop Scandal: Teenagers Are Bad Tippers?!
Apparently so.
And the Chip Shop ain't havin it:
"Today at lunch I witnessed a small group of young guys - three or four, who all looked about 16 years old - get refused service at Chip Shop for being under 18. They were turned away before they could even sit down."
"The waiter told the guys it was "policy." Afterwards some other patrons questioned the waiter & the thrust of the waiter's explanation was that young people are bad tippers."
What the???
I thought since teenagers were spending mommy and daddy's money, they'd be killer tippers? Anyway, the Chip Shop *is* the one place in town that serves fried candy bars...and teenagers are mostly pretty fucking annoying...so I don't really give a rat's ass that they are busting em out of there.
Do you?

How will teenagers have money for weed and booze if they spend it all on tips? Duh!
I hope you are never a teenager
If it's the Chip-Chop on 5th Ave, it's not a surprise. That place is a dump and pails in comparison to the better established Chip-Chops. I took a friend who was visiting there and the waiter was a lazy fuck who was more concerned about their beat up Boom Box (yes, it was a boom box) fucking with his tragically selected CD's.
I don't like teens all that much either...buuuuut, it's totally unfair. They shouldn't be denied service because some numb-nut won't serve them because 'they tip poorly.' Moreover, where is that written into their policy. I would love to call them and speak to a manager to confirm this 'policy.' If anyone wants to protest or boycott I'll join. I'm pissed...
maybe if people treated teenagers better they wouldn't be such shitty tippers
Chicken underwear
What the fuck does that mean- like u hope he's 11 and will never reach 13?
@donkey kong: I was wondering the same thing!? I'm old...I've already been a teenager. WTF chicken underwear?
Good policy. I here old people, jews, blacks, Hispanics, and gays are bad tippers too. They should be banned.
i think it was a joke. i actually chuckled out loud.

Ha!
My favorite thing about Chip Shop is all the lovely older people who go there with amazing accents. It reminds me of this girl I dated whose parents were from Liverpool. I feel like I'm eating family dinner with them every time I go. Only, I get to try out all the new beers there all the time.
