At Least We're Not In Buffalo!

Have you been complaining about the sudden deep freeze? Did you know all 50 states hit 32 degress or lower on Tuesday? Yes, it was 28 degrees out when you left for work this morning, and you can't find one of your gloves from last winter, but it could be a whole lot worse. A mere six hour drive northwest in Buffalo, a Lake Effect snowstorm dumped five feet of snow all over the area on Tuesday, and it's still coming. FIVE. FEET! This photo is from the Facebook page of the New York State Police. That's the NY State Thruway!

Good news for us, though, it's going to 55 degrees on Sunday.

Lazy motherfuckers rejoice! The day has finally come, Brooklynites, that you don't need to leave your home for any reason. Your shitzu, Mimi, is walked 3 times a day by an app-based dog walker, all the food your gluttonous hearts desire is but a few click-clicks away on Seamless, Amazon Prime will rush all you impatient jerks your skivvies, Fresh Direct literally grocery shops for you, and now there's Parcel.

Parcel, a Brooklyn-based company, is the latest in a bunch of delivery options that vows to deliver when it's convenient for you. No doorman, no problem! Untrustworthy neighbors, no problem. Twelve story walk-up, no problem. Agoraphobia—ain't no thang. Forbes Thinks It Knows Us

Opinion expressed on this photo not necessarily that of the author.Has Park Slope finally moved past punchline and become a cultural touchstone?

In a recent piece on podcast phenom Serial, Forbes magazine helps explain the breakout hit to the uninitiated by using “Park Slope” not so much as the punchline it so often is, but more as shorthand for the kind of neighborhood where people who enjoy high-brow, NPR-sanctioned, Ira Glass-imprinted, true crime stories probably live. In describing the 12-part series (please let it be more, please let it be more), Forbes helps the reader "get it" by positing "...it’s almost as if Serial were designed to be consumed via earbuds on a subway commute from, say, Park Slope to midtown Manhattan."
