The coffee shop formerly known as Ozzie's (that was a failed Prince reference)

Still in tears over Ozzie’s Coffee on 7th ave closing down? Not to worry, my dear Park Slopers, because they will be reopening down the block where La Taqueria used to be! It will no longer be called Ozzie’s, which is OK because it’s only a mere block away from the old location. You can still use muscle memory to get in the general vicinity without too much trouble. Added bonus: rumor has it that the owner is planning on adding beer and wine to the menu!

According to The Brooklyn Paper, Ozzie’s closed due to much financial trouble, but fellow merchants are hoping they’ll come back and have a more successful run the second time around.

“Welcome to the block!” said Louis Barricelli, who owns Cousin John’s Cafe & Bakery next door.

Ozzie's owner Melissa Azulai will be opening the new shop sans her old business partner/ex-husband, Allon Azulai. I’m just speculating here, but with the trauma of the previous financial woes and a separation from a partner in two different ways, this could explain the addition of booze to the menu. Booze is good, don’t get me wrong, I’m just saying…
