For every "Oh, it was easy breezy" voting experience story that I heard yesterday, there were a dozen "It was fucking hell" stories that followed. And yeah, I get it, voting lines are almost always CRAZY long so we should have all expected as much, but that doesn't mean that we can't collectively bitch about it.

WHO GIVES A SHIT: ARE YOU ACTUALLY DOING ANY WORK AT HOME?

So many of us Park Slopers have now been celebrating brunching stranded here for days under the guise that we're "working from home."

But I overheard someone at Bagel Market yesterday morn talking about how they told his whole office that he had power back on, but no internet...even though that was a total lie. The dude he was talking to confessed that he just stopped responding to texts from work as he told his boss cell phone service was "totally spotty"...even though that was also a total lie. 

And yet the restaurants are packed all day, stores are jamming, and our local friendly wine store guy told us that Hurricane Sandy produced their highest day of sales in the history of their shop...even more than New Years. 

So, yeah: we wanna know if you guys are *actually* working hard, or hardly working. 

BE HONEST. 

Who Gives a Shit: Who is your favorite park slope service worker?

Recently, we here at FiPS received a very nice note from a woman wishing to give prase to her favorite local service worker. See below -- it's pretty damn sweet. WHO GIVES A SHIT: WHERE DO YOU BUY FIREWOOD IN PARK SLOPE?

I don't have a fireplace, so I honestly have no earthly clue what the answer is to this question. 

But FIPS reader Phil is new to the nabe and wanting to get his fire on. 

Can all you btchz with fireplaces [I HATE YOU] help a brutha out? 

Where do you buy firewood in Park Slope??

WHO GIVES A SHIT: DO YOU GO TO BUSINESSES LOCATED ON THE SECOND FLOOR?

I guess this is mostly a phenomenon on 7th Ave, but I'm wondering if you ppl actually patronize Park Slope businesses located on the second floor? 

I haul my ass up the stairs for my manis at Lin & Li nails and don't even think twice about it. But there are actually quite a few businesses around here that are located on floor dos. When businesses located on the first floor can barely stay in biz, it's curious to me that these 2nd floor operations are still alive and kicking. Is the rent really *that* much cheaper? Will it only work if you are a "service" business? 

What say you guys?
