Who Gives a Shit: Who is your favorite park slope service worker?
Recently, we here at FiPS received a very nice note from a woman wishing to give prase to her favorite local service worker. See below -- it's pretty damn sweet. If you've got a special place in your heart for someone who works at a local Park Slope business, give them some love and lots of inappropriate hugs in the comments section!
I am writing to y'all to request some attention to be given to one of the workers at Tasti D-Lite on 7th ave and 9th Street. I have lived in Park Slope for the past 4 years, and in the most recent months have been frequenting Tasti D, always so happy when a specific young man (yes, I love him so much, my girlfriend and I have learned his name just to say hi when we are walking by) named Damar is working the store.
Damar is the friendliest guy, so polite, patient and a damn breath of fresh air in our sometimes stuck up neighborhood. I did not know his name for awhile, so instead I'd say "Let's go get some ice cream from Mama's boy," because he is so freakin' nice every time we go in, you knoooow he has a good mama. You can tell he is in his 20s, trying to make an honest living and just one of those dudes you wanna give an extra tip to. We are even planning to give him a holiday gift card because he makes our day with his kindness. It's so remarkable, and people like that deserve some PROPS. Now, I don't know about you, but a friendly face/person is EEFIN hard to come by sometimes in the massive attack of various fro yo joints, and this dude deserves some serious high fives and good Karma.
Just throwing this out there. Maybe you will go get some Tasti-D yourself. But, If you go, and a short White guy is working, don't do it. Wait til the young African American man, with the square stud earrings is working (not the fella with the blue tooth in his ear... Damar is likely reading a book or his text messages).
