You Should Totally Come To This Free Storytelling Class Tomorrow Night

If you've ever gone to a Moth storySLAM -- which is the epicenter of competitive storytelling -- it's pretty epic SLASH intimidating. The first time I put my name in the hat for a chance to tell a 5-minute story onstage I freaked out, drank too many gin & tonics and accidentally got wasted (luckily my name wasn't pulled from the hat that night or I may have vomited on the host's shoes).

If you're interested in the art of storytelling, but have let fear of complete vulnuerability and subsequent judgement of complete strangers hinder you, look no further for some advice on how to *not* completely suck at this age-old artform.

Park Slope Storytelling Show Includes Burlesque!

Park Slope is becoming the Bleeker Street of storytelling series, I tell you what. These shows are popping up all over our neighborhood, and I couldn't be happier.

We've got The Story Collider for our science fix, Bare Stories for all things dirrrrty and now a blog-turned-storytelling show called And I Am Not Lying, which is the first storytelling show I've heard of that includes burlesque (do you have burlesque, The Moth?)

Join storytellers Jeff Simmermon (This American Life), Brad Lawrence (The Moth GrandSLAM Champ) and Cyndi Freeman (Wonder Woman: A How-To Guide for Little Jewish Girls) for a night of storytelling, comedy, sideshow acts and well-placed tassles. I've seen these people perform live. You won't be disappointed.

And I Am Not Lying's next show is this Saturday, December 10th at Union Hall. Doors are at 8PM and tickets are $10, which you can buy here

New Park Slope Storytelling Series Focuses on Sex

There's no denying that Park Slope has sex on the brain (this is still our most viewed FiPS post). For those who can't get enough of a tingly feeling in your nether regions, a new storytelling show is coming to Union Hall, and it's focused entirely on... you know.
