I Like You, Maude: Park Slope StorySLAM Series Premieres Tonight!

"Maudes on a Scooter" by Joe Bennett

Got a sordid, sad or succulently sweet tale to tell? If so, bring your ass to Tea Lounge TONIGHT @ 7:30PM!

I Like You, Maude is akin to other storySLAMS in NYC. Anyone can tell a story on any topic. Just show up, put your name in the hat, and if picked you have five minutes to regale the audience with your tale. The stories must be TRUE and told WITHOUT notes or paper. Don’t worry about having your story memorized! Know the beats of the story, practice it a little and have a good time.

Each show will have a featured guest storyteller. This month’s guest is Adam Wade, holder of a record 17 Moth StorySLAM wins and creator of Time Out NY Critic’s Pick, The Adam Wade From NH Shownot to mention a Rick Moranis look-alike and all around swell guy.

This monthly show is produced and hosted by FIPS contributor Kerri, who promises to regale the audience with stories about her mom Dot, who once recommended she take a homeopathic medicine called "something cock semen" to cure a head cold.

AGAIN, THE DEETS:

  • WHEN: Tuesday, July 19th @ 7:30PM
  • WHERE: Tea Lounge (837 Union between 6th/7th ave)
  • FREE!!

So come on out and share a true tale, or just support the other storytellers! Tea Lounge may be a coffee shop, but they have a full bar, y'all.

We'll leave you with this hilarious video of Adam Wade telling a Moth GrandSLAM winning story at Comix back in 2009:
