Show Me Yours: Park Slope Real Estate

Photo Via Park Slope Lens

SHOW ME YOURS is a new recurring column in which we do two things: show you Park Slope real estate and tell you how much it is. That's pretty much it!

Here's our latest victim Show Me Yours-er:

  • Location: 12th St between 5th and 6th Ave
  • Type:  2 bedroom apartment (4th floor)
  • Cost:  $2060/month
  • Rent Or Own? Rent
  • Amenities: skylight, 12ft ceilings, 2 storage spaces, exposed brick wall
  • Who calls this place home?: multiple Grammy award winning sound engineer and a photographer for a snarky blog about Park Slope
  • What's really good about this joint?: sunset view of lower Manhattan, proximity to Commonwealth
  • What's really bad about this joint?: schlepping our bikes up and down 4 flights of stairs, no dogs allowed

COOL OR NOT COOL: Rich Ppl Renting Out Their Brownstones When They Go On Vacay?

    IMAGE VIA PARK SLOPE LENS

I've noticed something about rich people: They are all CHEAP AS MOTHERFUCKING HELL.

And I actually mean that as a compliment. I mean, I guess that's how rich people stay rich, right? Cause they're not doing the same sort of ridiculous shit that I do. Like  for example: every time I need a bottle of water before the gym, I go buy one at the bodega for $1. I do this instead of:

*buying a case of water at Costco
*buying a case of water at Target
*buying 1 bottle of water, saving the bottle and then refilling it at the free water fountain at said gym that costs upwards of $100 month.

THIS IS WHY I'M NOT RICH.

Dear Glen: Your Park Slope Real Estate Advice Column

"Dear Glen" is a recurring column meant to provide A's to your burning Q's about Park Slope real estate. Got a question for our undercover badass Brooklyn broker? Drop us a line or leave a comment in the box below.

    Dear Glen,

I currently live in Park Slope and DREAM of having a garbage disposal in my beloved brownstone. I have a great deal in the Slope and have lived here for 5 years (rent-stabilized, bitches!), but am willing to move for a disposal! I LOVE brownstones, so I want something with charm and original detail too. I’ve talked to several brokers and they’ve told me this doesn’t exist or haven’t called me back. Are these assholes lying to me?!

    Sincerely,

Too Much Crap Clogging My Sink

PARK SLOPE REAL ESTATE: Show Me Yours

    Image via Park Slope Lens
SHOW ME YOURS is a new recurring column in which we do two things: show you Park Slope real estate and tell you how much it is. That's pretty much it!

Of course, we're gonna need some submissions to make this shit not boring, so if you've got a Park Slope pad that you want to share, send photos and apartment info (location, cost of rent/mortgage, amenities, your occupation and answers to questions below) to effedinparkslope at gmail dot com.

We're not looking to show off killer design or ridiculously expensive furniture...so don't feel intimidated if your place isn't in next month's Elle Decor (though that would be a nice bonus). It's really all about keeping track of how much apartments cost around here and what you get for your money.  Of course you can remain anonymous if you want, thus avoiding all of the stalkerazzi that would likely result from your brush with greatness. KIDDING! MOSTLY!
