COOL OR NOT COOL: Rich Ppl Renting Out Their Brownstones When They Go On Vacay?

IMAGE VIA PARK SLOPE LENS

I've noticed something about rich people: They are all CHEAP AS MOTHERFUCKING HELL.

And I actually mean that as a compliment. I mean, I guess that's how rich people stay rich, right? Cause they're not doing the same sort of ridiculous shit that I do. Like for example: every time I need a bottle of water before the gym, I go buy one at the bodega for $1. I do this instead of:

*buying a case of water at Costco
*buying a case of water at Target
*buying 1 bottle of water, saving the bottle and then refilling it at the free water fountain at said gym that costs upwards of $100 month.

THIS IS WHY I'M NOT RICH.

On the other hand, these brownstone owners who live on a lovely street in N. Park Slope are likely ROLLING IN IT. I mean, first of all, they own a brownstone in the nicest nabe in Brooklyn, so already they're #winning. Second of all, someone is probs gonna pay them $1200 a week to change their cat's kitty litter, cook him organic meals, and weed the back yard. An anonymous tipster FIPSter sent us the following email which these richie riches sent out to their block association:

Hello Neighbors,

Our family will be going away for a few weeks this summer (July 11-Aug 24). Though my brother will be staying at the house and care-taking, we wanted to make it available to anyone who has out of town guests or relatives who are interested in renting a local place for a week or two (my brother can broker the transfer and move out for that time).

We have 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, a home office, an eat-in kitchen, and a back yard (basic watering needed). We also have a cat who is shy and low-maintenance, but would need to be fed.

We are asking $1,200/week. If anyone is interested, please let us know soon. We will be around this weekend.

Thanks!

Oh, and also their poor brother has gotta move out and go crash on someone's futon. BWHHAAAAAAAAA.

Anyway, I think this is totally cool.

I mean, true: this place is a bit pricier than others we found in Park Slope (for ex, here's two floors of a browstone avail on airbnb for only $100/night), but like if I was going away on some African safari for a month or going to oversee the building of my yacht or some shit, I would totes want to make thousands of dollars on my empty brownstone (on top of normal appreciation, of course) whilst our temp tenants were watering plants in my backyard and taking care of my cat.

I MEAN IT.
