Park Slope, North Carolina!?

Yes, it's true. Inspired by the whiny, self-important, obnoxious, lovely community we all got going here in Park Slope, Brooklyn, North Carolina now wants in on the action. Introducing, Park Slope, Carboro, NC!

"Park Slope is Carboro's hottest new community! Be the first to enjoy Downtown Carrboro's newest community--Park Slope. All of this comes to you in a well-planned enclave of homes surrounding a promenade with walking paths and a real sense of community. The neighborhood offers HOA managed landscaping so you can spend more time with family, friends, or just relaxing. Park Slope Carrboro is ideally located with easy access to shops, dining, nightlife, art galleries, UNC, and much more!"

You'll be happy to note that your money goes a hell of a lot further in Park Slope, NC than it does in BK. For instance, you can buy either this 3 bedroom, 3 bath house OR this 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath house (pictured above), both of which are priced under $400k:

Lot 1: 2216 s.f., 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths, study, single car garage, wrap front porch. Almost Complete! Offered at $300,000.

Lot 3: 2490 s.f., 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, bonus room, masters up & down, two-car garage, large front porch. Offered Pre-Construction at $375,000.

Comparitively speaking, you're looking at a cool $2.2 millies for this 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom luxury Co-op on Grand Army Plaza. No garage (that will run you an extra $375 a month across the street at the garage on Union), BUT, you do get a doorman! Oh happy day!

So yeah, if you wanna save $1,725,000 (minus the garage), I suggest you high tail it down to North Carolina.

True, you'll then be in North Carolina, but at least you'll have plenty of cash left over to buy drugs to help you forget where the hell you are.
