Zito's Sandwich Shoppe = OPEN

That's right, people...it's true. The long-awaited new 7th Ave Italian sandwich shop/joint/cafe, Zito's Sandwich Shoppe, is open. RIGHT NOW.

So cancel your lunch plans and head on over. I was lucky enough to taste some of their food last night at their preview soft opening and trust me: it is all kinds of delicious (stay tuned for a full review). I especially went crazy for the meatball sliders and the eggplant parm.

Pita Place to Replace Pita Place

Remember The Pita Hut on 9th street and 5th Ave? The one engulged by Dunkin Donuts? Looks like it's being replaced by ANOTHER Pita Place, The Filfila Falafel Restaurant. 

I never ate at The Pita Hut, but I hear that their Hawaiin Fizz was heaven.

Kiwiana Is Open!

I can't wait to catch a glimpse of the handsome chef and try his Lavender goats’ milk ricotta cheese cake with roasted golden beets ($8).

If anyone goes this week let me know how it is! I'm in Massachusetts hanging out with American dogs and eating plain, store-bought cheesecake, otherwise I'd be there.
