BONNIE'S WINGS: THE BEST IN THE CITY?

Remember when I used to do "Buffalo Soldier Wing-Offs?"  Wasn't that shit fun?

Why did I stop doing it?

Mainly because one of my main goals in life is not to weigh 600 lbs. like that guy on HEAVY (Have you guys WATCHED that show yet?  It is all kinds of crazy).

BUT: Serious Eats launched their own Buffalo Wing-Off, and they tried 15 places all over the city.

WHO GIVES A SHIT: Takeout Menu Hell

OK, so most of you probs have that little red sign in front of your fancy brownstones that says DO NOT DROP MENUS HERE BY PENALTY OF BEING PUT ON ALERT AT THE COOP, or whatever they actually say.  So, when restaurants ignore your sign and leave menus on your doorstep, does their unwelcome appearance actually affect your decision about whether or not to patronize the place?

At my old place, I used to get my feathers ruffled for a hot second and then generally forget about it, but this weekend, Kiku on Seventh decided to not only leave a recycling center's worth of menus in my apartment building's entrance (whatev, it's your job, I'll live), but also found a way into the building and slipped menus under each apartment door.  We always have a ton of rogue menus in the entryway, fine, but never in our actual apartments.

I'm sure I'm too wah-wah sensitive for you tough types, but I'm gonna think twice before ordering from them again.  Anyway, please justify my yuppie rage or insult my self-importance in the comments.

WHASSUP: Park Slope Restaurant Tour

This is the first Google image result for "delicious yums."

Next week, one of my fav things is happening in the Slope, so put down your breast pumps and clear your calendars, you busy bees.

*Thursday, Sept 23: The Park Slope Restaurant Tour is going down along Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Avenues.  Never been?  Basically, delicious restaurants put delicious things out for you to sample.  You eat them and walk along.  You tell yourself you're not gorging yourself on food, because the bites are small and you are walking, but actually you are and it's okay.

Last year, I hadn't been to Anthony's, Fonda or Brook-Vin, but this thing turned me onto 'em, among others.  Anyway, if you're waiting for me to say something FIPS-y, keep on waiting, because I actually love this event.  Full list of participants here.

Oh, and if you see me hobbling down Seventh with my cane, yes, I do accept piggyback rides.  Just sayin'.

FIPS Food Throwdowns: The Pizza Edition [Suggestions, pleaze]

It's time for our yet another edition of our monthly series, FIPS Food Throwdowns.  And I don't know about you bitches, but if I think "delivery," I think pizza.

So, what two places should we try out?  Who has the best pizza in Park Slope?  Tell me tell me tell me!

FIPS Food Throwdowns: The Burger Edition [Suggestions, pleaze]

Many of you may or may not be familiar with our monthly series, FIPS Food Throwdowns.  Basically, this is a battle royale of the take out world.  We judge on ordering ease, delivery time, price, taste, and how the food held up in transit.  We've done Asian, Mexican, and now, in honor of the beginning of BBQ season—we're doing burgers.

There are tons of restaurants around here that offer up a-m-a-z-i-n-g burgers, but a burger in a restaurant is a whole different ball game than a burger that's delivered to you.  So many things can go wrong!  For one, if it's shoved in a styrofoam container, the bun will almost certainly be soggy and gross.

So, what two places should we try out for the ultimate burger smackdown?  Remember, they HAVE to deliver.

Help a sister out?
