DO YOU WANT FREE CULTURE YOGURT?

Yo Fipsters: you know how we're completely obsessed with Culture Yogurt around here? And go there like every day? And know all the employees by their first names? THE FIRST STEP IS ADMITTING THAT YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, RIIIIGHT?.

Anyway.

We're totally jazzed to let you know that our good friends at Google Places love Culture Yogurt  too. And they also love you! In fact they love you AND local businesses so much, they've generously agreed to sponsor a FIPStastical meetup at Culture where we will be GIVING AWAY free delicious, mind-blowing cups of Culture's frozen yogurt to the first 150 lucky chumps who make it over there on Thursday, August 18th between 4-7pm.

But that's not all!

FREE Sunday at BK Museum, Botanic Garden and More!

Let me ask you, LET ME ASK YOU: are you ready to learn some shit -- for FREE?? If, like for many of us, your student loans are a grim reminder of why majoring in sculpture at Sarah Lawrence is a bad life choice, then "Free" has gotta sound pretty good. This Sunday, August 7, the gaggle of learneries around Grand Army Plaza celebrate the ten-year anniversary of their alliance as The Heart of Brookyn with a day of free admission and events.

The DiceMan Cometh... To Brooklyn!

Andrew Fucking Dice ClayThe notorious Andrew Dice Clay -- a Brooklyn-born comedian and lover of cigs and leather -- is playing his first EVER show in the borough he once called home.

Appropriately titled "Dice In Brooklyn," the one-night event is happening in the distant future of October 1st, and will be held at MCU Park, where the Cyclones win lose play.

Either you love Dice or you loathe him. He was banned from MTV in 1989 for reciting adult nursery rhymes at an awards show, yet is the only comedian to ever sell out Madison Square Garden two nights in a row. Here's a video of him telling CNN new anchor to go fuck himself.

On finally playing Brooklyn for the first time, Clay says:  "The funny thing is everyone has always called me ‘Brooklyn’s favorite son.’ And I can’t begin to tell ya what I used to do the chicks on the rollercoaster in Coney Island."  Atta boy, Dice. You never disappoint.

Tickets go on sale this Monday, 8/1 @ 10AM and can be purchased HERE

[FIPS Was There] Lou Pride at Dig Deepers' Third Anniversary

New column alert! We here at FIPS spend a hell of a lot of time out and about in Brooklyn, attending outdoor concerts, comedy shows and various other events. So [FIPS Was There...] is where we're gonna' talk about all this shit.

Park Slope's classic soul series, Dig Deeper, celebrated its exit from the terrible twos last night with a smooth-as-satin set from Chicago soulster Lou Pride at Southpaw. The AC was nipple-erect cold, the audience was as white as their dance moves, and the tunes were good-old-fashioned R&B.
