BREAKING: The Soup Bowl Is Opening A Second Location

HOO-FRIGGIN-RAY!

The Soup Bowl, that amazing, winter only spot that took over the Uncle Louie G's on 7th Ave last year, is expanding...and this time  N. Slope (ish) is getting the love. If all goes well, the souptacular geniuses behind my fave soup-a-teria and yours are opening up a second location this weekend at 178 Park Place in the Uncle Louie G's space right off of Flatbush.

Yes, I'm aware of the fact that this isn't technically Park Slope ppl, but since I'll only need to exit the 7th Ave Q Station on the Sterling side now instead of the American Apparel side in order to get my soup on, I for one am totally fucking elated.

How Park Slope Restaurants Are Doing Thanksgiving This Year

Are you staying in the Slope for Thanksgiving? Do you hate and/or suck at cooking anything that isn't a hot dog? Local blog All About Fifth compiled a neat little list of restaurants open on Turkey day, along with their customized menus. Take 200 Fifth, for example. For $23.95  ($13.50 for children under 12) you get ALL YOU CAN EAT Caeser Salad, Tossed Salad, Corn Chowder, Turkey (fried or roasted), Roast Beef, Ham, Smoked Brisket, Stuffing, AuGratin Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, White Rice, Cranberry Sauce, Vegetables. That's a pretty sweet deal, especially if you line your pockets with Ziploc bags...

Park Slope Brag: We Own The Only Original Polish Bagel Recipe

Photo via bridgeandtunnelclub.com

Park Slope now has one more thing to brag about. While reading in The NY Post about a Seattle couple who flew all the way to New York City to find a great bagel, I came across this little tidbit:

"The only original bagel recipe traceable to Poland that Goodman can point to is not made by a Jewish bagel maker, but an Italian one at Bagel Hole in Park Slope.

“I learned how to make bagels from an old Jewish man, about 30 years ago, maybe a little longer,” says owner Philip Romanzi, whose bagels are smaller and sweeter than the standard Upper West Side bagel."

Hear that, every other neighborhood in New York City? That's the sound of our real Polish bagel's recipe kicking your fake-ass Polish bagel recipe's doughy ass
