Who Gives a Shit: Do you have tickets to the first Nets game?

Photo via Gothamist

On November 1, The brand new Brooklyn Nets will be playing their first, regular season game against the Knicks.

Did any of you get tickets? If so, where from, where are the seats, and how much did you pay?  Did you offer up your first-born to some dude on Craigslist? Did you cash in a life insurance policy? Or were you lucky and able to spend less than $100?

Spill, please.

Lady Gaga To Bring her Weirdness, Monsters, to the Barclays Center

Jay-Z, The Smashing Pumpkins, Rihanna, Greenday, Journey, Pat Benatar and now: Lady Gaga. All of these big shots will be bringing their A-game (and lots of foot and car traffic) to the Barclays Center in the upcoming year.

Gaga is the most recent addition to the growing list of performers, and will be performing on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 28 at 10AM, and can be purchased HERE or HERE.

What might Gaga wear for her "venue entrance outfit?" My money's on a giant rusty dome filled with screaming lemurs that she'll don on her back as a tribue to the Barclays Center.

Rihanna, Greenday added to growing list of Barclays Center Performers

Two more musical acts have been added to the growing list of artists set to perform at the Barclays Center next year:

** Rihanna Will perform on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 21 at 12PM.

** Greenday Will perform on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 8PM.  Tickets go on sale Friday, September 14 at 12PM.

Tickets can be purchased on the Barclays Center site, or on Ticketmaster's website. Or from some nasty Craigslist scalper. Ticket prices have not yet been listed, but if they follow in the footsteps of the other musical acts, you can expect to pay anywhere from $30-$10,000.

I'd love to see Rihanna team up with Tré Cool to sing a quiet duet of "All By Myself."

The Barclays Center's Deliberate Rust Facade May Eventually Cause Its Downfall

Did you hear that the Barclays Center is Rusting?

Neither had I, so I took to the streets to see for myself.  As I walked down 5th Ave, pausing to stop at a few favored watering holes, I thought, surely this must be an egregious rumor that bears little truth, because why would a brand new arena that hasn't even opened yet already appear aged with rust?!

Boy, was I wrong.  Turns out, the damn thing is actually covered in rust!  There it stands, larger than life in Brooklyn’s busiest shitshow of an intersection, with a woven pattern of rusted metal that, as it turns out, is deliberate.

The Barclays Center Will Serve Booze Until 1AM

With less than one month to go before it officially opens, the rusty mega arena that we all call The Barclays Center has just been granted a liquor license by The New York State Liquor Board.

Though Forest City Ratner and Levy Restaurants, the developer's food and liquor contractor, initially requested that liquor sales at the arena's swanky Court Side Club last until 2AM, the license only allows them to serve until 1AM.

Surely this compromise will still anger Brooklyn residents who have repeatedly requested that booze stopped being served at half time, lest an arena full of drunk people loudly spill out onto the streets and pee everywhere.

Only time will tell if the 1AM cut-off time holds up.
