OPENING: PSbkyln

Photo via Park Slope Lens

Just when you thought Park Slope was only home to shuttering storefronts and 750 bagel shops, behold!  PSbklyn, a new restaurant taking over Bussaco's old space on Union Street, is opening this week. Truth time: it sounds like it will be a mecca for parents and their children...and a place to be avoided by everyone else.  Like, on a Two Boots scale.

Why?  According to their website, "PSbklyn is a family-friendly restaurant with plenty of things to entertain the kids—booths equipped with DVD players, and a supervised game room in the basement, stocked with skeeball, pinball machines, and arcade games."

1. That actually sounds like a place where your kids would have a fun time, so that's nice to see as a parent, I suppose.

2. Am I the only one who thinks it's bizarre that the "game room" is in the basement?  Doesn't it sound like something your creepy "family friend" would have?  I CAN'T BE THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THIS WAY.

Maybe I've been watching too much Law & Order: SVU.  But really, guys.

No dinner menu yet, but the brunch menu has kooky offerings, like an "Israeli Wake-Up Call," which sounds totally comforting and not at all ominous.

Ok fine: let's wait and see how the food is. Our minds = open (ish).

But also: Amber Alert, everyone.  PSbkyln has joined the neighborhood.
