'Fuck Park Slope!' [NYE Fight Night]

While all you bitches were watching the fireworks in Prospect Park, rockin out at the Bell House, or having "unconvential sex" on NYE, there was apparently a multi-borough smackdown happening right in our own very nabe. That's right: Park Slope is now so hated, a roving gang of teenaged hooligans boarded a subway, ditched their NYE plans, and rode all the way down here from Harlem to kick themselves some ginuine Park Slope ass.

I live on 11th street (near 7th ave) and shortly after midnight I began hearing screams and generally loud behavior. I chalked it up as some kids enjoying ringing in the new year until I looked out of my window and to my horror, saw 30+ kids beating and punching one another, throwing bottles and trash can tops, this went on, continuously for over half an hour. I repeatedly called the police (who did not seem concerned when I told them I was in no danger) they did not even show up until much much later and once they did they did nothing to stop these children who had spilled out into the middle of 7th avenue and were kicking and punching one another with cop cars in plain sight. (I had left my house at this point to try and flag down a patrol car or something so this would end) Even worse than the children ruthlessly brawling were grown adults standing on their stoops egging these kids on, laughing and joking, is this what we have become?

I was repeatedly harassed and screamed at by children who couldn't have been more than 16 or 17 screaming "F*ck Park Slope" in my face. (To my understanding, after speaking with some of my neighbors who also witnessed this, the fight began because some kids from Harlem and the Upper West Side had problems with Park Slope and its residents...

Daym, guess Amanda was onto something back when she warned us about "increased gang activity" back in November.

Some people who were there jump in throughout the thread, including some kids who claim that it was really no big deal because no one was seriously hurt. Apparently it involved kids from the Beacon School who, basically think anyone from Park Slope needs to just STFU (though not sure what the comment up above about Harlem is then referring to). Someone named "xtaz" started posting comments in the thread (he appears to be an enemy Beacon outsider), but I'm guessing his comments were inflammatory, b/c Brooklynian has deleted em all.

Anyway, I love a good prep school kid fight and I'm glad no one got hurt. Plus I also kind of find it hilarious that all these douchey NYC teenagers got together and decided that coming to BK to scream "FUCK PARK SLOPE!" and kicking some self-entitled, coopretards-in-training ass was the most fun they could possibly have on NYE.
