COUNTRY LIVING MAG WONDERS: HOW ADORABLE IS BROOKLYN??

Oh look guyz! Country Living Magazine thinks Brooklyn has lots of small town charms!

"With its mom-and-pop shops, bluegrass joints, and working farms, this borough offers small-town charm smack-dab in the middle of New York City."

BROOKLYN IS SO FUCKING ADORABLE!

They even have a whole little slideshow of all the cute country things you can do throughout Brooklyn. And if you can make it through the goddamned annoying pop-up ads that come up after every other slide, there is actually some fly ass shit in there (note: I left out all the Williamsburg/Greenpoint crap, cause FUCK WILLIAMSBURG. Except for Pies-n-Thighs that is):

  • Somehow I've never been to Pies-n-Thighs...that's gotta change. I want 17 biscuits right now.
  • If you wanna forego just buying their shit at Blue Apron and go to the actual source, the bearded Mast Brothers give "behind-the-scenes" tours of their chocolate factory every weekend.
  • Holler & Squall looks like a fab store on Atlantic that I've also inexplicably missed. This cutsie newlywed couple runs who both have short hair and style their shit into "meticulous vignettes."
  • I don't even know wtf is in an "egg cream" but just the sound of it makes me wanna barf. Still, the Brooklyn Farmacy in Caroll Gardens looks kind of a adorbs, and maybe I could get a milkshake or somethin there?
  • Yet another spot in Red Hook that I've never been to cause it's not Ikea: Metal and Thread. They sell local honey, as well as cool shit made by local artisans like quilts-n-jewelry and stuff.
  • Erie Basin, also in Red Hook, has gorgeous vintage and antique jewelry. Go old or go home.
  • Jalopy is a theater, bar and music school all rolled into one. Weird. But it looks cool! They have live music every night and they even sell vintage banjos and mandolins!
  • Four and Twenty Blackbirds was rockin a pie mention. Somehow I've never been here either! I suck! Salted caramel apple pie kinda sounds amazeballs after those 17 biscuits.
  • This was the coolest thing on the list: there's this thing called the Fixer's Collective. Every Thurs night they meet up and just fix shit! For Free! Though they suggest a $5 donation. Wonder if they'd take $50 to just come to my apt and fix shit??
  • Stitch Therapy, Brooklyn Mercantile, Prospect Park, and the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket also get props.
  • Blue Marble ice cream should be in your belly right now. I don't care if it's cold and rainy...don't be a pussy.

Here's all Country Living's fave BK spots on a Yelp map.
