Feel Like Walking 40 Miles to Staten Island?

Yeah, me neither. But live and let live I say.

I received an email this morn from Matt at Flash Walk. This dude has organized a group of people to walk from Brooklyn to Staten Island...you know, just for fun! And while this whole thing sounds totally fucking crazy to me, you guys might dig it:

The essentials are this: As the inaugural of an organization that will sponsor exploration-oriented walks, with no guides and no agenda, at locations in the city selected by chance, I'm getting a group of people together to walk from Brooklyn to Staten Island. This is no small feat, as the only way to get there on foot is a 40-mile, two-state walk via Manhattan, to the George Washington Bridge, through 20 miles of Jersey, to the Bayonne bridge. To up the ante, it will be a five-borough walk. And it'll be taking place on the longest day of the year, just so we can get the most out of it. It's totally not-for-profit, free, and aimed at simply getting people to slow down their lives for one day and take a serious look at their cit(ies) -- and as a side effect raising awareness of flashwalk as organizer of such strangeness.

Wow. This certainly brings new meaning to the phrase "Brooklyn we go hard," hunh?

PARK SLOPE BREEDERS LOVE THEIR DILDOS

So says Babeland:

In their first year in Brooklyn, they've "sold 16,389 sex toys since last June. More than 15,000 customers have come in. More than 2,000 people attended a workshop or free event."

Daym, you BREEDERS are a bunch of sex-crazed pervs.

WE KID, PEOPLE....we kid.

Anyway, in celebration of their one-year-anniversary Babeland is throwing a customer appreciation party this Sunday, from noon to 4 at their Bergen Street location. They're also offering a 15% discount on every darn dildo in the joint (and everything else too).

Between the fundraiser at the titty bar and the sex toys at Babeland, we've got ourselves quite a full weekend.

Titty Bar Needs Our Help!: Lucky 13 Fundraiser

So, our fave Park Slope bar, Lucky 13 is facing some rough shit. We received the following comment from "Michael" yesterday and wanted to pass on the scoop so that we could all get out there and help:

Lucky 13 has been a staple of Park Slope and has been the home of Original Cyn (the event in this post) as well as other events featuring nearly naked women pole dancing and go-going for a long time. The Bar is being harassed by the local government and local residents and is constantly receiving fines. If you want to continue to have a home for this sort of fun in Lucky 13, the bar needs your help.

This Saturday (June 6, 10:00, 273 13th Street @ 5th ave) the bar is doing a benefit help keep it going strong. There will be DJs and Go-Go dancers.
