Who Gives A Shit: What's Your Favorite breakfast sandwich in Park Slope?

Breakfast panini from Bar Toto

I sure fucking love eating a good breakfast stacked between two slices of bread. You know: a breakfast sandwich.  When I’m not running late for work, or too lazy to leave the bed, there are a few choice breakfast sandwiches that I love to get in the ‘hood (side note: if you don’t enjoy breakfast sandwiches, you probably need to reevaluate your life.)

If I want to sit down and enjoy a lengthy breakfast or brunch over a bloody mary, my morning sandwich of source is the breakfast panini at Bar Toto. Their perfectly scrambled eggs are topped with capocollo, smothered in cheese, and stuffed between two wonderfully crispy pieces of toasted bread. Yeah. That shit’s good.

My Three Favorite Park Slope(-ish) Breakfast Sandwiches

Turkey & provolone at Costco

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  Ergo, this will be the most important thing you read on the internet today.  Let's just dive right on into my three favorite morning-time sandwiches, shall we?

1. My go-to breakfast sandwich is a standard, no-frills sausage, egg and cheese on a roll.  Not on a bagel -- they're too chewy.  Just a roll. For this, I have a particular fondness for 5th Ave. Bageltique.  I've lived in Brooklyn for about 12 years, and I don't think I've ever ordered a bagel there.  I don't think I've ever ordered anything else there, actually.  Why do I like their sausage, egg and cheese on a roll?  I don't know.  What is it about that sandwich that is so special?  Nothing.  But they make it well, it's (in my mind) a classic New York breakfast order, and that's where I go for that sandwich.  Or, maybe it's just that I'm too lazy to walk any farther than that.  Argue with me in the comments, if you must.

[My Favorite Park Slope...]: Coffee Shop Breakfast Options

Kos Kaffe's Granola BowlAs an unemployed loser relentlessly hopeful freelance writer, I spend most days working in coffee shops around the neighborhood. And because I often forget to buy basic morning essentials like eggs, milk and Peanut Butter Puffins while out grocery shopping, I usually end up eating breakfast at said coffee shops. I'm thankful that we've got so many great cafes in this neighborhood -- Postmark, Cafe Regular, Tea Lounge, Cafe Grumpy, Cocoa Bar, Cafe Martin, Gorilla, Noella Brew Bar -- but when it comes to breakfast options, I have to tip my shabby cap to Kos Kaffe. When the coffee shop first opened a few months back they weren't offering much for food, but have recently introduced breakfast and lunch options via a chalkboard hanging above the counter. And I've slowly been sampling every single dish.
