REVIEW'D: CULTURE YOGURT
So I ventured over to that new yogurt joint, Culture, on 5th Ave between 3rd and 4th Streets this weekend on the day after they opened.

I WANTED TO HAVE SEX WITH THIS YOGURT.
I'm not kidding, ppl...this shit was B-A-N-A-N-A-S.
This place is an actual certified NY state dairy, and holy christ does it show (nope, there isn't a cow in the back, though of course we asked too). Read more about the owners and their process on Here's Park Slope.
Here's all you need to know: their yogurt is so good, it will blow your mind. There are zero chemicals in this stuff, and its all made fresh on site. They have plain AND frozen versions, as well as these delish toppings to put on top.
They also have suggested combos for all the morons like me who just stand there with my jaw on the floor and don't know what to do.
I ordered the "Parfait" which was frozen tart yogurt, with fruit, homemade granola and raw honey (ok, raw honey was .25 cents extra, but I'm worth it!
Amanda, who came along for the ride, got some Key Lime Pie combo. I wasn't paying very close attention, but there was some sort of lime syrup on the frozen tart yogurt with graham cracker crumbles.
They yogurt actually seemed slightly cheaper than other comparable fro yo places (small was $3.25), and I swear! It was FRESH TO DEATH.
The space is also really homey and welcoming (though they could use some art up on the walls) with a big wood communal table and some smaller tables as well. And we chatted briefly with the two owners who could not have been nicer.
The crowd was pretty big while we were there, and duh: there is a major BREEDER alert in effect due to the fact that this place offers healthy, delicious, snacks. But still: it's totally worth it.
After my frozen treat, I bought some regular strained skim yogurt to take home and try the next day. The taste is really unique and the texture is kinda fab. It's like a combo of greek yogurt and cottage cheese...thick but also fluffy.
This place is the bomb diggity.
Anyone else try it?
