[GETTIN' IT RIGHT]: DA NONNA ROSA

Gettin' It Right is our semi-regularish column where we call out a Park Slope biz that deserves an online pat on the ass for doing something that's not totally fucking stupid. Today's nominee: Da Nonna Rosa!

When Da Nonna Rosa opened, I caught some heat for not shouting up and down from the rooftops how hard they rocked. Some readers took issue with my claim that their vodka ravioli pizza slice (pictured above) was life changing, but that their regular slice was just ok. The thing is, I still stand by my original claim: their pizza is good, but in my opinion, not the best in Park Slope. However, I keep going back to them again and again because of this: EVERYONE THERE IS SO AMAZINGLY, MIND-BLOWINGLY NICE!

Like soooooo nice.

And I mean "nice" in a really genuine, non Trader-Joes'y type of way.

And also: when I say everyone, I mean E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E. From the guys behind the counter, to the hostess, to the bus boys who clear the table. It's just so fucking pleasant to be in that joint!

And the truth is, the food is pretty good! It's not fancy Italian (like Sette), but rather more traditional, down home type stuff. You can almost always get a booth in there, the air is pumpin, they have gelato, and if I'm being honest: it's really become a regular stop on our Park Slope restaurant rotation.

Also, their ravioli slice REALLY, TRULY is amazeballs.
