BIKE WARS: Hitler Apparently Supports the PPW Bike Lanes

Since the other day was National Bike to Work Day, I would like to take this opportunity to pluck the string of something I haven't harped on in a while: the PPW Bike Lane (Shock! Awe!). 

But this time, I'm a little confused (Shock again). This parody video came across my email. In it someone  took the 2004 German movie, Downfall and superimposed English subtitles where Hitler is in FULL-BLOWN support of Bike Lanes on the PPW.

Since I've had a penchant for making lists lately I'll throw another one onto to the barbie. We'll call it:

7 QUESTIONS I HAVE FOR THE MAKER OF THIS PARODY:

1) Why is Hitler (in subtitles alone) depicted as a fairly competent leader who supports the PPW bike lane and finds that the people that oppose it are just plain nasty pants?

2) WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT SAY ABOUT PEOPLE WHO WANT THE BIKE LANE?

3) Is your message: "This is so obvious even a dumbass like Hitler knows you should support a bike lane on PPW (even though he's pointing to a map of Berlin)?

4) Is your message: People who love bike lanes are on par with vicious, bat-shit crazy dictators who murdered millions of people (I'm thinking not because you go out of your way to mock Schumer's wife)?

5) Are you trying to rebrand Hitler as the savior of free-minded bike-riding Park Slopers who support a better community for its residents (that's going to be a long-shot)?

6) Did you take my "systematic extermination of bike lanes" comment from that Barclay Center piece a little too far?

7) Did you ever consider that Slopers who speak German (Cafe Steinhof) will actually think this is even dumber because they know that's not what these dudes are really saying?

But giving the devil his due, the last line is fairly funny. But again, dude -- it's Hitler.

My suggestion: Go home and start again. Pick any other figure that's not Osama Bin Laden and make them love bike lanes and unicycles and you might get your point across.

Oh and make it like a minute long, not 4.
