'Being Sexy Is A Nasty Job, But Someone Has To Do It'

The Park Slope post offices seem to be breeding grounds for intense hate and explosions of disgust, but once in a while they are beakers for beautiful chemical reactions of love molecules (is that gross or hot?).

Lookie here at the following missed connection on the always ripe-with-possibilities Craigslist:

You were wearing all black in the post office on 9th St. in Park Slope - m4w - 30 (Park Slope)

You were wearing a black sleeveless shirt and black pants to mail something or other today; I was there to pick up a package. I smiled at you because you're pretty. You kinda smiled back and looked away, which could have been shyness or you thinking I was crazy.

I didn't say hello because I was sweaty from a 7-mile bike ride and I was wearing a shirt that read "Being sexy is a nasty job but someone has to do it." Not me at my finest. But then I passed you walking up 9th Street, and I tried to wave hello but you were looking down and listening to your iPod/iPhone/whatever, and I didn't want to crash into a parked car, so I rode on.

So perhaps this is less of a missed connection than a statement of "Hey, you're really attractive and I'm awkward." But hey, at least a handful of people on the Internet now know that the sexy business is in good hands.

Maybe I'm getting old and rom-com-loving, but this is pretty damn cute missed connection. Or a pretty damn cute not-missed connection. All-in-black chick, where are ya???
