Worst Post Office Ever? Happy Tax Day from the 7th Ave USPS

So, you'd think that maybe, just *maybe,* our local post office would ramp up to oh, i don't know, three open windows in honor of death and taxes day??

Uh, no.

In true fashion, they were as just as understaffed and surly as usual, with maybe two postal peeps manning the front, while untold staffers milled around the back. Can't "sorting wait," for fuck's sake? (though also, I so don't buy that that's what's going on back there).

Had to cut bait to work a double at the Food Coop, not to be confused with the Barney's Co-op because that could get really confusing, after all. Honestly, there seems to be madness in the air lately. Is everybody off their meds? Spring fever? During my shift(s), some dude (with a mustache, by the way) actually got relieved of his duty at the entry desk after he yelled at one too many people.

Speaking of going postal, is the 7th Ave. post office the worst run post office in the world? (ed note: uh, yes...yes it is, Allison). Is there a best post office in the city? Upstate, there seem to be outposts in every little burg, fully staffed and serving 30 people tops. Why can't we get enough people at ours, a post office that serves thousands?

When I lived in Seattle, the people at the post office actually smiled and gave you their cards in case you had "any questions or needed to get in touch." Is it too much to ask for a little common decency and, by the way, what the fuck ARE they all doing when they're milling around in the back? INFIPSTIGATE!!!!!!

Note to self: try the Park Slope Copy Shop next time...they have a date stamp too.
