WHO GIVES A SHIT: Do You Think 'The Nets' Is A Stupid Name For A Basketball Team?

Cause this dude at the NY Daily News certainly does:

"I am, first of all, unaware of another name in professional sports that references an object on that sport's playing field. It would be absurd to call a football team the Endzones or a baseball squad the Outfields..."

"[The Brooklyn Nets] sounds bad, and it means nothing."

I mean, I guess he kinda has a point.

I'm sure it's no surprise that Mr. Ranty McRanterson also came up with a few suggestions for replacement names that he'd like us to all meditate on:

• The Brooklyn Commodores
• The Brooklyn Abolitionists
• The Brooklyn Rhymes
• The Brooklyn Bums
• The Brooklyn Monarchs
• The Brooklyn Knights
• The Brooklyn Eagles

Personally, I don't like any of those. I think the clear choice, nay, the ONLY choice, would have to be The Brooklyn Raccoons.
