WHO GIVES A SHIT: Do You Rent Your Apt Out on AirBNB?
I was kind of blown away by this anon poster on Brick Underground who claims that they made $14k on airbnb by renting out their Murray Hill apt for $99/night. All the while he/she was traveling around the world, footloose and fancy free, drinking wine in Spain and eating gelato in Italia-n-shit.
Ok, so I could never actually do this because:
A. We live in a co-op where mostly everyone owns, and the crew over here would be none too pleased with strangers coming in and out every other day.
B. We leave Oliver at home when we travel, and always have a dog sitter staying with him.
However, this is a pretty fucking cool gameplan if you can make it work. I mean, you're basically having European tourists bankroll your international escapades. Though the anon poster does admit that it's a gigantic pain-in-the-ass to coordinate, they still think that the whole thing is pretty damn great. And apparently, since the disaster this summer when some chick's place got totally trashed, they've changed many of their insurance policies.
Do you btchz do this airbnb rental thing too?
