When Was The Last Time You Actually Used the Yellow Pages?
THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN IN MY LOBBY...THESE BTCHZ HAVE BEEN SITTING THERE FOR MONTHZ
I can't pinpoint the exact Yellow Pages date for myself, but I'm pretty sure Melrose Place was still on the air...the FIRST one.
ATTN EVERYONE EVERYWHERE ASSOCIATED WITH THE YELLOW PAGES: NO ONE USES THIS SHIT! It's a gigantic waste of:
- money
- resources
- time
- energy
- ink
- paper
- gas
- space
It's beyond retarded that these mofos are *still* getting dropped off at houses and apartments everywhere, each and every year. Why? How?
Apparently Seattle is cracking down on this shit, and I for one think it's le awesome! They've set up a website where city residents can go to opt out of phonebook delivery, and if publishers continue to delvier these things after someone has opted out, they risk getting fined $125 smackers.
And now apparently San Francisco is cracking down as well.
"...banning the books will actually help the economy by reducing advertising rates and cutting down on damage done to the recycling equipment. They also say that the 1.6 million yellow pages each year generate 7 million pounds of paper waste, and, if stacked up, would be equal to 8.5 Mt. Everests."
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let someone in Brooklyn make this happen for us too! Marty Markowitz, are you out there? If so, send one of your many drivers over to pick up all this yellow pages bullshit in our lobby and let's follow Seattle and San Francisco's lead and get rid of this crap forever.
