[WHAT YOU SHOULD ORDER AT...] SMILING PIZZERIA

WHAT YOU SHOULD ORDER AT... is a recurring column designed in kind for your opinionated asses and our lazy asses.  We're going to pick one Park Slope resto a week and recommend our favorite dish at each.  Are we right?  Are we wrong?  YOU KNOW YOU WANNA WEIGH IN.

This place might be called "Smiling Pizzeria," but my friends and I tend to refer to it as "Smiling Happy Face Pizza," which recalls some sort of Asian laundry service ("Crystal Clean Happy Laundry Place"), or the ridiculous stripmall mainstay in Connecticut, "USA Baby Child Space" (yes, that is a real store).

Walk into Smiling Happy Face Pizza and you're transported directly into 1970, which is nice, because I get to reenact my parents' courtship, in cheap orange and red booths, next to a bathroom that you need a key to get into.

It's open late and near the train, which is really the only reason you should ever go here.

Here's an example of what it would be like to eat the EXACT same piece of pizza from Smiling Happy Face Pizza at different times of the day/night:

Drunk at 2AM: OMGGGGGGGG THIS PIZZA IS AWESOME I WISH I HAD MORE MONEY BUT I LOST MY WALLET AT THE BAR AHAHHAHAHAHAHA.

[Relatively] Sober at 7PM: WTF is this shit?

If it's a decent hour, order from Pino's or—yeah, ima say it—Dominos.  If you're drunk, Smiling Happy Face Pizza will definitely give you a reason to smile.  And a reason to puke the next morning.

The best thing to order from here is nothing.

Viva Italia!
