[WHAT YOU SHOULD ORDER AT...] Fornino
WHAT YOU SHOULD ORDER AT... is a recurring column designed in kind for your opinionated asses and our lazy asses. We're going to pick one Park Slope resto a week and recommend our favorite dish at each. Are we right? Are we wrong? YOU KNOW YOU WANNA WEIGH IN.
We've had a million bazillion posts and comments about the best pizza in Park Slope (HINT: It's not Smiling Happy Face Pizzeria). While Fornino (256 Fifth Ave between Garfield and Carroll Sts, 718-399-8600) doesn't have the BEST pizza in Park Slope, it does have good pizza, and other Italian junk.
While Fornino's menu is pretty ambitious (homemade braised short rib ravioli, herb-crusted branzino, double-cut pork chop), but their wood-fire pizzas are the best (and most affordable) options on their menu.
My favorite one is the Funghi Mixti ($16)—wild mushrooms, taleggio, and white truffle oil on a thin, crispy crust.
What's the best pizza you've had at Fornino?
