Tonight: Louis C.K. Does Park Slope (On TV)!

via brobible.com

Hey, watchers of screens: make sure to peep our fair 'hood tonight when TV's smartest, most creative comedy on television (with apologies to Mr. Colbert) pixelates a Slope landmark. Ginger-haired, foul-mouthed ball of comedic brilliance Louis C.K. shot a few scenes of his Louie sitcom at 7th Ave's Community Bookstore back in March. The first of two episodes featuring the store airs tomorrow -- one of several Slope cameos in Louis' summertime show, as reported on dnainfo.com this past Tuesday.

Louis is kinda the comedian of the moment. His show gets all kinds of love from critics and people who like fart jokes alike. And it's well-deserved. The show is smart, probing, hilarious -- and always surprising, but in ways that seem earned, not gimmicky. Damnit, it's just so good. He also got a bit of headline action recently for inadvertently tweeting himself into the Daniel Tosh rape-joke opinion fest.

If you can't tell, I'm a fan. And if, like me -- and many, many others -- you failed to score tix to Louis' surprise shows at the Bell House last fall, mayhaps you may take solace in the C.K. once again sprinkling us with some fairy dust of coolness. Tonight's episode sees Louis chatting up Parker Posey (playing another awkward romantic target) at Park Slope's best spot for unfriendly bookstore cats. That's right: TV's most thoughtful comedian meets the erstwhile darling of indie cinema in an independent, Brooklyn bookstore. Shall we all blow our respective hipster wads simultaneously, or in sequence, like a fireworks display? Vote in the comments section.

In future episodes, Louis' show will also feature the Key Food on 7th and Carroll, PS 321, Cafe Regular du Nord, the Prospect Park Carousel, and the Brooklyn Public Library at Grand Army. That's not to say that, in the world of Louie, these places will actually be in Park Slope. The NYC-centric show will obviously cast them as NY spots, but watchers of the show know that it scrambles sites depending on plot needs/location availability/probably other reasons. For instance, I'm pretty sure I've seen the Grand Central subway station portrayed as a downtown stop. So, don't expect Louie's Community Bookstore to necessarily be in Park Slope. It might even be, gasp, "in" Manhattan.

Still, think about it, you could potentially purchase a copy of the Steve Jobs biography grazed by the hem of Parker Posey's skirt or baptized by Louis CK's sweat drops.

Catch the episode tonight at 10:30pm on FX.
