'Tis the season to not be an asshole: B61 Driver Returns Lost Money to Passenger

Aaron Showalter, NY Daily News / Maureen Rice and bus driver Reuben Cornick
When the B61 bus isn't winning the FiPS award for most unreliable bus in New York City, it's winning our unofficial award for nicest driver ever. Earlier this month, 59 year-old Maureen Rice, office manager at Park Slope Midwives, left behind a purse containing $2,300 worth of Christmas shopping money on the B61.
Driver Reuben Cornick spotted the purse, and upon further inspection, realized it was full of cash. He called his bosses to report the find, and within a few hours Rice was reunited with her purse and money.

“I am glad I found it," Cornrick told The Daily News. If a passenger would have spotted it, “it’s a 50/50 chance you would get it back.”

“We need more people like him,” Rice proclaimed, and told the MTA that Cornrick should be given a "hero award." I'm not 100% what that is, but he should totally get one.
