Curbed Cup: TIME TO VOTE AGAIN
We've beat Roosevelt Island...we've beat the W. Village...and now it's time to beat Harlem's Frederick Douglass Boulevard. It's Curbed Cup voting time again, ppl!
I know all you ppl are stuck at home, hating your fams and running out of food, but there's no better cure for the #snowpocalypse blues than VOTING! If you wanna be chosen as the best nabe in NYC ah-gain, you gotta be in it to win it.
So vote fast, and vote often (as long as you're using different IP addys, of course).
Oh, and also we're behind right now! So hurry the eff up!
ALSO: This Harlem blog thinks THEIR readers are gonna sway the vote...ARE YOU BTCHZ GONNA STAND FOR THIS??? DO NOT LET ME OR NATE SILVER DOWN!
House Beautiful: The Googles of Park Slope
David Howell Design
Mr. and Mrs. G quietly moved in to their exhaustively rehabbed PPW manse, formerly haunted by Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany. They even handed out candy on Halloween and said I could show you the pictures on the condition that I never darken their doorstep respect their desire to fade into the proverbial woodwork from now on.
Here's a sneak peak at the house, designed by the firm David Howell Design. DH was very nice on email; from New Zealand; and willing to discuss The Piano and Whale Rider with me. The website makes you click around so go to residential and then townhouses and then Park Slope townhouse to get your virtual tour.
The photos had me drooling just a bit and wishing I'd bought Google stock when I had the chance. I'm so very glad they got rid of that black living room and restored the miles of beautiful woodwork.
Have fun, kids! I bet YOU guys didn't hire a Christmas tree decorator. At least I hope not.
See you around the hood.
Curbed Cup: Park Slope v. The West Village
So far we're losing...BIG TIME.
Vote now btchz, otherwise this is gonna be the end of the road (as of the writing of this post it was 66.5% for the W. Village and 33.5% for Park Slope).
WE ARE THE BEST NEIGHBORHOOD TO LIVE IN IN NYC! NATE SILVER SAID SOOOOOOO!
UPDATE: It's working! We're ahead now! Keeeeep Voting!
Curbed Cup Scandal: STOP CHEATING, PPL
Ok, so apparently Allison's ploy to get people to vote for Park Slope a billion times in a row in the yearly Curbed Cup Best Neighborhood competish worked.
In the Park Slope v. Roosevelt Island head to head, Park Slope *appeared* to win by a landslide. Only when they looked into a bit, they realized we only won by a smidge cause everyone in both Park Slope AND Roosevelt Island is apparently a lying, cheating sack of shit.
Anyway, we're still in the game...but we gotta reel it in if we have any hope of winning this bitch for realzies.
Honesty is the best policy, ppl.
