Schooled In The Slope: Class Action Lawsuit Time!

Big day in local education news.

Manhattan momzilla Nicole Imprescia got the partay started by filing a lawsuit against her four year old's preschool for ruining her little Einstein's chances of getting into an Ivy League. Per the Daily News, "she's seeking a refund and class action-status on behalf of similarly wronged toddlers."

My first thought: Thank God she's not from Park Slope.

One Gothamist commenter's: Phew, she's not Jewish.

Daily News commenters also weren't mincing their words:

Maybe her daughter was learning about shapes with younger kids because she is a MORON like her mother!

This is a joke right? Please tell me this is a joke.

and

WTF is wrong with these people?

And over at The Awl:

Just as I was snickering, another post came in over the transom to fix my wagon: somebody bid $62,500 for a dinner party at some swanky restaurant at Saturday night's Berkeley Carroll Gala Auction.

Well, I guess it's safe to say the recesh is over at Berkeley Carroll, at least. Now I'm worried about what might happen at the 321 shindig next month.

In other news, per BrickUnderground, there's a new real estate search site in town, Schoolfisher.com, that matches available rental and sale properties with ratings of 200 quality NYC public elementary schools. And guess what? According to the site's creators, "many public schools in affordable neighborhoods are actually better than those in Manhattan's toniest neighborhoods."

Maybe lawsuit lady should move to Flushing to increase her preschooler's Ivy League odds again.

And really, how prescient that she sued on the day of public school report card distribution. Because my second grader wants in.

How can Schnooky's teacher not get that she is not merely good or satisfactory but effing excellent? Don't these teachers get it yet?

Who's with me and can we come up with a good name for our organization?
