RUMOR: Pavilion Movie Theater Renovation Underway

Say goodbye to the bed bug infested, spooge covered, filthy purple seats folks! Word on the street is, the Pavilion movie theater reno is well underway!

We received the following tip from FIPS reader @axelmurillo:

I just went to see the ab-tastic movie, Thor, at The Pavilion Theater and one of the candy clerks filled me in that the venue has been bought over by a new corporation (whose name he either didn't know or wouldn't divulge). He said that this new corp has plans to, at minimum, re-paint the entire joint and hinted at a "nice" makeover.

A few days ago I noticed that all of the movie time listings disappeared off Google for the theater and I figured it was finally closing its doors permanently. I mentioned that to the clerk which is when he spilled the beans! (Apparently in the middle of purchase, they forgot how to post movie times.)

The candy clerk said "it's going to be real nice when they're done!" I asked if they were going to change the god-awful seats once and for all, to which he replied again, "oh, yea, it's going to be real nice and they're going to do it all at night so there won't be any interruptions."

The've already begun by taking a Sharpie and writing names of paint colors on the walls. So now, not only are all the seats broken/bed bug infested (allegedly!), there's also kid-looking graffiti over every single wall.

He said "they plan a big re-opening soon and everything."

After some further digging, we can add to the rumor that a "Jewish business group" actually ended up purchasing the theater. OF COURSE! Jews run the entertainment industry!

Anyway.

I don't give a rat's ass who bought the joint, but if they *do* get some new seats in there, I might actually be willing to lift my Pavilion ban and maybe, possibly even consider going to see a movie there again one day. Oh happy day!

Anyone else have any scoop?
