Is Parking in The Slope Even *More* Of A Clusterfuck Now?

Please consider giving up your parking spot today to help out a unionist in need.

About a month ago, I was down on 5th Avenue when I happened upon a truckload of burly union workers wanting to talk with me about a calamity heading toward a street corner near me.

Coming off Wisconsin's whole labor busting sitch, I thought this meant there must be serious shit going down. There was literature. There were earnest Carhardt clad men importuning me on every corner. There was even a big-ass utility workers truck. They needed me! Little old me could lend my voice to their plight and help save their rights.

The impending apocalypse was, as it turned out, the slated May 1st closure of a free Con Ed parking lot on Sixth Street between Third and Fourth Avenues. Which, by my estimation, has now passed.

The end of days coverage before it actually went down was borderline hysterical: The Brooklyn Paper, The NY Post, and all the local news outlets were on the coming flood of SUVs from Massapequa and Staten Island. All warned that "hundreds" of extra displaced Con Ed worker cars would soon be fighting like the rest of us to grab a precious Park Slope parking spot...and there was nothing anyone could do about it.

But since this momentus parking lot closure went down, I've heard bupkus .

Has anybody noticed if Park Nope has gotten any more trying than it already was on the parking front? Operators are standing by.
