Kings County Cinema Society Presents: Short Film Slam: This is going down Friday, 5/27 @ 7:30PM in Gowanus.
Kings County Cinema Society is an ongoing, roving, curated, eclectic screening series in Brooklyn NY. With a focus on classic, cult, art, and local film, they work to shine a light on film and media that lies off the tired, beaten path. The society ultimately hopes to bring together a coalition of fans, friends, filmmakers, critics, curators and cinephiles interested in gathering, watching, and discussing. They began their cinematic reign of terror in 2008, and now hold court at an array of venues across the borough.
Battle For Brooklyn: Screening in NYC for a limited time starting 6/9
BATTLE FOR BROOKLYN is an intimate look at the very public and passionate fight waged by residents and business owners of Brooklyn’s historic Prospect Heights neighborhood facing condemnation of their property to make way for the polarizing Atlantic Yards project, a massive plan to build 16 skyscrapers and a basketball arena for the New Jersey Nets.
