REVIEW'D: ROYAL ROSE COCKTAIL SYRUPS

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person in New York City who is not on some form of anti-depressants.  Because of that, I drink a whole lot.  SELF-MEDICATION, IT'S TOTALLY FINE.

So when the folks over at Royal Rose Syrups wanted to send me some stuff to try out, I was totally into it.  I'm not getting drunk because I have a problem, MOTHER, I'm getting drunk because it's WORK.

And what hard work it is.

Royal Rose is a local cocktail syrup producer that hand-makes their syrup in small batches, using whole ingredients, organic/fair-trade sugar, and filtered water.  Flavors such as rose, lavender-lemon, raspberry, three chiles, and more.

So, let's try it out, right?

The first concoction was a recipe from the Royal Rose Recipe site, the Senor Lee, which utilized the three chiles syrup, lime, and tequila.

Verdict?  Not so great.

Maybe we should try making our own recipe, we thought.  I'm not big on measuring, especially when I'm drunk, so here's what we came up with:

The Big Daddy (we were watching that episode of The Golden Girls where Blanche's father dies while we were making this)

1. A shit ton of vodka

2. A half a lemon or a full lemon or 15 lemons, who cares?

3. Half a bottle of Royal Rose Lavender-Lemon syrup

4. A "splash" of tonic water

Much better!  Observe:

You can pick up Royal Rose Syrups and make fancytime cocktails for you and your loved ones Bkyln Larder and Blue Apron Foods.
