Prospect Park's Crazy Dog Lady Loves Pigeons & Cats Too!

Not content to terrorize the morning off-leash crowds with her hectoring lectures on how to treat dogkind, crazy dog lady as she's known among the FIDO crowd (no, not circus dog lady; that's someone else) has apparently taken up the cause for ALL urban wildlife. Much to her neighbor's chagrin, CDL has launched an informational campaign on behalf of pigeons (they like soft bread rather than stale bread) on her own Park Slope block. Per my informant:

When she is not saving the pigeon population from stale bread, CDL is heavily involved in feeding the feral cat population by leaving wet cat food in backyards, which is making our local raccoons very happy.

The chalk doodlings were preceded by two rounds of signage...one which rambled on for a single-spaced page about the appropriate pigeon feeding methods, and one of which featured a photo of one of the pigeons she has "rehabbed." I unfortunately didn't take pics of the signs, or the large piles of food, pigeon poop and the cracked pigeon egg we found last week.

I spoke with some folks who live in her building last weekend, and it sounds like they are suffering the brunt of her pigeon loving, as it seems she's feeding them out her window as well.

CDL recounts her efforts to save urban wildlife over at Animal Liberation Front. You can join the save the pigeons and rats campaign meetup over at "Urban Wildlife Coalition-NY's" yahoo group here.
